    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis desain modul pembelajaran untuk kompetensi Zoo Educator sebagai pemandu edukasi pengunjung di Bandung Zoo. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada lima karakteristik modul pembelajaran, yaitu self-instructional, self-contained, stand-alone, adaptive, dan user-friendly. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Informan terdiri dari tiga orang yaitu dua Zoo Educator dan satu pihak pengelola edukasi di Bandung Zoo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) self-instructional dalam modul diterapkan melalui penyusunan tujuan yang jelas, petunjuk belajar sistematis, materi lengkap, latihan, dan evaluasi mandiri, sehingga mendukung kemandirian peserta walaupun tetap memerlukan pendampingan ahli di lapangan; (2) modul dirancang self-contained dengan materi mulai dari konsep Zoo Educator, strategi komunikasi, teknik pemanduan, hingga pengenalan satwa berdasarkan zona habitat satwa, dilengkapi ilustrasi, studi kasus, latihan, dan evaluasi mandiri; (3) modul mendukung pembelajaran mandiri secara stand alone karena lengkap, sistematis, dan dapat digunakan tanpa media tambahan atau sumber eksternal; (4) bentuk adaptive modul terhadap kebutuhan dan gaya belajar karena fleksibel menyesuaikan latar belakang, pengalaman, dan gaya belajar zoo educator; dan (5) persepsi zoo educator menunjukkan modul user-friendly, mudah dipahami, komunikatif, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan lapangan. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa desain modul Zoo Educator telah sesuai dengan karakteristik modul pembelajaran (self-instructional, self-contained, stand-alone, adaptive, dan user-friendly) sehingga efektif dalam mendukung peningkatan kompetensi Zoo Educator sebagai pemandu edukasi. This study aims to analyze the design of a learning module for the competence of Zoo Educators as educational guides for visitors at Bandung Zoo. The study focuses on five characteristics of the learning module, namely self-instructional, self-contained, stand-alone, adaptive, and user-friendly. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and document studies. The informants consisted of three individuals: two Zoo Educators and one education management staff at Bandung Zoo. The results show that: (1) the self-instructional aspect is implemented through clear learning objectives, systematic learning instructions, complete materials, exercises, and self-assessment, supporting participant independence while still requiring expert guidance in the field; (2) the module is self-contained with materials covering the concept of Zoo Educator, communication strategies, guiding techniques, and animal introduction based on habitat zones, supplemented with illustrations, case studies, exercises, and self-assessment; (3) the module supports stand-alone learning because it is complete, systematic, and can be used without additional media or external references; (4) the adaptive aspect of the module is reflected in its flexibility to accommodate diverse backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles of Zoo Educators; and (5) Zoo Educators perceive the module as user-friendly, easy to understand, communicative, and relevant to field needs. The study concludes that the Zoo Educator module design aligns with the characteristics of a learning module (self-instructional, self-contained, stand-alone, adaptive, and user-friendly) and is effective in supporting the enhancement of Zoo Educator competence as education guides.
