Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh maraknya program playdate di Indonesia yang saat ini tengah menjadi tren bagi beberapa kalangan orang tua, khususnya orang tua perkotaan dengan tingkat ekonomi yang baik. Playdate merupakan sebuah agenda bermain bersama yang umumnya diadaptasi dari budaya orang luar negeri. Namun, penelitiannya masih sangat terbatas, terlebih penelitian yang ditinjau dari perspektif orang tua. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis adaptasi istilah playdate di Indonesia dari perspektif orang tua dan para praktisi. Teori Bourdieu tentang habitus, modal dan ranah digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk dapat mengkritisi playdate yang pada kenyataannya merupakan bagian dari praktik sosial yang kompleks. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa playdate di Indonesia telah diadaptasi secara luas baik secara makna maupun fungsinya. Lebih lanjut, hasil analisis dengan menggunakan perspektif Bourdieu mengindikasikan playdate sebagai praktik sosial yang cukup kompleks, dimana pada kenyataannya bukan hanya sekedar ruang bermain, tetapi juga sebagai ranah sosial yang didalamnya terjadi proses produksi dan reproduksi modal budaya, sosial, ekonomi dan simbolik. Maka dari itu, adaptasi playdate di Indonesia tidak dapat dipahami semata sebagai inovasi pendidikan non-formal atau bentuk janjian bermain modern, tetapi juga merupakan praktik sosial yang sarat akan muatan kelas. Peneliti merekomendasikan penelitian selanjutnya untuk memperluas konteks geografis dan sosial agar dapat memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih komprehensif tentang variasi bentuk adaptasi dan dinamika aksesibilitas penyelenggaraan playdate di Indonesia. This research was prompted by the rise of playdate programs in Indonesia, which is currently a trend for some parents, especially urban parents with a good economic level. Playdate is an agenda for playing together that is generally adapted from foreign cultures. However, research is still very limited, especially research from the perspective of parents. Therefore, this study aims to describe and analyze the adaptation of the term playdate in Indonesia from the perspective of parents and practitioners. Bourdieu's theory of habitus, capital and domain is used in this research to be able to criticize playdates which in reality are part of complex social practices. The results show that playdates in Indonesia have been widely adapted both in meaning and function. Furthermore, the results of the analysis using Bourdieu's perspective indicate playdate as a fairly complex social practice, which in reality is not just a play space, but also a social sphere in which the production and reproduction of cultural, social, economic and symbolic capital occurs. Therefore, the adaptation of playdates in Indonesia cannot be understood simply as an innovation in non-formal education or a modern form of playdate, but also as a social practice with class content. The researcher recommends future research to expand the geographical and social context in order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the various forms of adaptation and accessibility dynamics of playdate implementation in Indonesia.
