Abstract
Keterbatasan berbahasa dalam pengucapan huruf, merupakan dampak dari hambatan pendengaran. Berdasarkan temuan empirik, subjek belum mampu dalam mengucapkan huruf konsonan bilabial. Penelitian ini, bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh metode audiolingual terhadap kemampuan pengucapan huruf konsonan bilabial (b-p-m-w) pada peserta didik dengan hambatan pendengaran di SLB BC Kurnia. Penelitian ini, menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen jenis Subject Single Research dengan desain penelitian A-B-A. Subjek penelitian ini, adalah satu orang peserta didik tunarungu kelas III dengan tingkat kehilangan pendengaran berat (75dB). Pengumpulan data, dilakukan dengan cara tes lisan. Instrumen yang digunakan, berupa tes pengucapan huruf konsonan bilabial di awal, di tengah, dan di akhir kata. Data yang didapatkan, dianalisis menggunakan analisis visual yang disajikan dalam bentuk grafik yang mencakup analisis dalam kondisi dan antar kondisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa metode audiolingual dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pengucapan huruf konsonan bilabial (b-p-m-w) pada anak tunarungu. Hal tersebut, ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan dari fase baseline 1 (A1) sebesar 40% meningkat pada fase intervensi (B) menjadi 58,8%, kemudian terjadi peningkatan dari fase intervensi (B) ke fase baseline 2 (A2) menjadi 67,6%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan, bahwa metode audiolingual dengan mengandalkan latihan berulang, peniruan, dan koreksi langsung terbukti berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pengucapan huruf konsonan bilabial anak tunarungu di SLB BC Kurnia. This study aims to determine the effect of the audiolingual method on the pronunciation ability of bilabial consonants (b-p-m-w) in students with hearing impairments at SLB BC Kurnia. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method of the Single Subject Research type with an A-B-A research design. The subject of this study was one deaf student in grade III with a severe hearing loss level (75dB). Data collection was carried out by means of an oral test. The instrument used was a test of pronouncing bilabial consonants at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of words. The data obtained were analyzed using visual analysis presented in graphical form that includes analysis within conditions and between conditions. The results of the study indicate that the audiolingual method can improve the pronunciation ability of bilabial consonants (b-p-m-w) in deaf children. This occurred with an increase from baseline phase 1 (A1) of 40%, increasing in the intervention phase (B) to 58.8%, then an increase from the intervention phase (B) to baseline phase 2 (A2) to 67.6%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the audiolingual method, which relies on repeated practice, imitation, and direct correction, has been proven to have an effect on improving the pronunciation ability of bilabial consonants in deaf children at SLB BC Kurnia.
