Abstract
Transformasi digital dalam pendidikan tinggi telah mendorong munculnya berbagai bentuk inovasi pembelajaran, salah satunya adalah pembelajaran bauran yang menggabungkan interaksi tatap muka dan daring secara kolaboratif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pelaksanaan pembelajaran bauran pada mata kuliah Elektromagnetika di Institut Teknologi Bandung dengan menggunakan kerangka Community of Inquiry yang mencakup tiga dimensi utama: pembentukan pemahaman (cognitive presence), interaksi sosial (social presence), dan peran dosen (teaching presence). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan metode campuran (mixed-methods) dan desain eksploratori berurutan (exploratory sequential design), yang mengintegrasikan studi kasus untuk eksplorasi kualitatif dan metode deskriptif kuantitatif untuk analisis hasil belajar mahasiswa. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 25 mahasiswa dan satu dosen pengampu, yang dipilih melalui teknik sampling jenuh karena seluruh populasi dianggap relevan dengan fokus studi. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket terbuka, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dokumentasi aktivitas pembelajaran pada aplikasi Learning Management System, serta hasil belajar mahasiswa. Analisis dilakukan secara tematik untuk data kualitatif dan deskriptif untuk data kuantitatif, dengan mengintegrasikan setiap temuan untuk memperkuat interpretasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kejelasan instruksi dan struktur tugas dari dosen menjadi faktor pendorong terbentuknya arah kerja kelompok yang lebih terorganisir (teaching presence), sementara interaksi sosial mahasiswa berlangsung aktif namun belum sepenuhnya menyentuh dimensi emosional (social presence). Mahasiswa menunjukkan inisiatif tinggi dalam eksplorasi dan integrasi konsep elektromagnetika ke dalam produk edukatif (cognitive presence). Temuan kuantitatif mendukung hasil ini, dengan nilai Log book rata-rata 63,99 dan penilaian internal kelompok rata-rata 84,66, meskipun terdapat ketimpangan partisipasi antar anggota kelompok. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa keberhasilan pembelajaran bauran sangat dipengaruhi oleh sinergi ketiga dimensi dalam kerangka Community of Inquiry, serta memberikan implikasi penting bagi pengembangan strategi pembelajaran digital yang lebih inklusif, reflektif, dan kolaboratif di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi. ; ANALYSIS OF BLENDED LEARNING IMPLEMENTATION IN THE ELECTROMAGNETICS COURSE THROUGH THE COMMUNITY OF INQUIRY FRAMEWORK AT INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG ABSTRACT The digital transformation in higher education has spurred various instructional innovations, including blended learning, which merges face-to-face and online interactions in a collaborative manner. This study examines the implementation of blended learning in an Electromagnetics course at Institut Teknologi Bandung using the Community of Inquiry framework, which comprises three core dimensions: cognitive presence, social presence, and teaching presence. Employing an exploratory sequential mixed-methods design, this research integrates a qualitative case study with a descriptive quantitative analysis of student learning outcomes. The study involved 25 students and one course instructor, selected through saturation sampling because the entire population was relevant to the research focus. Data were collected via open-ended questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, Learning Management System (LMS) activity documentation, and student learning outcomes. Thematic analysis was used for the qualitative data, while descriptive analysis was applied to the quantitative data, with findings integrated to strengthen the interpretation. The results show that teaching presence was reflected in the clear instructions and task structures provided by the instructor, which helped shape more systematic group work. Social presence was evident in active student interactions, although the emotional aspect of engagement was not fully realized. Students also demonstrated strong cognitive presence through their initiative in exploring and integrating electromagnetics concepts into the educational products they developed. Quantitative findings supported these results, with an average logbook score of 63.99 and an average internal group assessment score of 84.66, despite uneven participation among group members. This study highlights that the success of blended learning is significantly influenced by the synergy of the three dimensions within the Community of Inquiry framework. It offers important implications for developing more inclusive, reflective, and collaborative digital learning strategies in higher education.
