Abstract

Secara umum tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji kaitan antara pendekatan open-endedberbantuan komputer dengan software geogebradalam pembelajaran dengan Spatial Ability(kemampuanspasial) siswa. Metode yang digunakandalampenelitianiniadalahmetodeeksperimendengandesainkelompokkontrol non-ekivalen(nonequivalent control group design).PopulasidalampenelitianiniadalahseluruhsiswakelasVIIdi salahsatu SMP Negeri di Bandungtahunajaran 2013/2014dengansampelduakelasdarikelasVIIsecaraacakkelas. Satukelassebagaikelaseksperimendenganperlakuanpembelajaran dengan pendekatan open-endedberbantuan komputer dengan software geogebradansatukelaslainnyasebagaikelaskontroldenganpembelajarandengan metode ekspositori.Instrumen yang digunakanadalahteskemampuanspasialdanskalasikap.Hasilpenelitianmenunjukkanbahwapeningkatankemampuanspasialmatematissiswa yang mendapatkanperlakuanpembelajaran dengan pendekatan open-endedberbantuan komputer dengan software geogebralebihbaikdaripadasiswa yang mendapatkanpembelajarandengan metode ekspositorisertasikapsiswaterhadappenggunaan pendekatan open-endedberbantuan komputer dengan software geogebradalampembelajaranmenunjukkansikappositif. The general objective of this study is to examine the relation between learning by open-ended approach assisted by GeoGebra software and students’ spatial ability. The method used in this study was the experimental method using nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study was seventh grade students of a Junior High School in Bandung year 2013/2014, two classes that randomly chosen used as a sample. One class as an experiment group given learning by open-ended approach assisted by GeoGebra software treatment and another class as a control group given expository method. The instrument used was a spatial ability and attitude scale test. The results show that an increase of students’ spatial ability in mathematics with learning by open-ended approach assisted by GeoGebra software treatment is better than students who learn with expository method and students' attitudes toward open-ended approach learning assisted by GeoGebra software show positive attitude.
