Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dalam kemampuan diri dan ketahanan matematis pada materi Kelipatan Persekutuan Terkecil (KPK) serta Faktor Persekutuan Terbesar (FPB) di kelas IV sekolah dasar bilingual. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain yang bersifat korelasional. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari siswa kelas IV yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian mencakup kuesioner untuk mengukur kepercayaan diri dalam kemampuan diri dan kuesioner untuk mengukur ketahanan matematis, yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya serta menggunakan soal tes materi KPK dan FPB sebagai data pendukung. Untuk menganalisis data, digunakan uji Chi Square untuk menentukan kekuatan hubungan antara variabel-variabel yang ada. Hasil dari penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa secara statistik, tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan, atau hanya ada hubungan yang tergolong sangat lemah antara kepercayaan diri dalam kemampuan diri dan ketahanan matematis dalam proses pembelajaran KPK dan FPB. Namun, observasi di kelas menunjukkan bahwa sejumlah siswa yang memiliki kepercayaan diri tinggi juga menunjukkan ketahanan matematis yang tinggi, yang pada akhirnya berkontribusi positif terhadap nilai matematika mereka. Penemuan ini menegaskan bahwa meskipun pada tingkat kelompok keterkaitan kedua variabel itu tidak kuat, perbedaan di antara individu masih memiliki peranan penting dalam kemampuan siswa dalam menghadapi tantangan dalam belajar matematika. ______________________ This study aims to examine the relationship between Self efficacy and mathematical resilience in the topic of Least Common Multiple (LCM) and Greatest Common Divisor (GCD) among fourth-grade students in a bilingual elementary school. The research employed a quantitative method with a correlational design. The sample consisted of fourth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Research instruments included a Self efficacy questionnaire and a mathematical resilience questionnaire, both of which had undergone validity and reliability testing. Data analysis was conducted using the chi Square test to determine the strength of the relationship between the variables. The results revealed that, statistically, there was no significant relationship or only a very weak correlation between self efficacy and mathematical resilience in learning LCM and GCD. Nevertheless, classroom observations indicated that some students with high Self efficacy also demonstrated high levels of mathematical resilience, which positively contributed to their mathematics performance. These findings highlight that while Self efficacy and mathematical resilience may not be strongly correlated at the group level, individual differences can still play a meaningful role in students’ ability to face challenges in mathematics learning.
