Abstract
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk menelaah perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran dan koneksi matematis antara siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran model cooperative learning dengan strategi konflik kognitif (CLSKK) dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional (KV) baik secara keseluruhan maupun ditinjau dari masing-masing kemampuan awal matematis (KAM) siswa (tinggi, sedang, rendah). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 14 Bandung, dengan sampel dipilih dua kelas dari delapan kelas yang tersedia. Adapun desain yang digunakan adalah desain pretes-postes dan kelompok kontrol tidak acak (nonrandomized control group, pretest-posttest design). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan penalaran dan koneksi matematis siswa kelas CLSKK lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa kelas KV. Adapun hasil penelitian berdasarkan masing-masing KAM menunjukan bahwa: (1) peningkatan kemampuan penalaran siswa kelompok KAM tinggi kelas CLSKK dan kelas KV tidak berbeda secara signifikan; (2) peningkatan kemampuan penalaran siswa kelompok KAM sedang dan rendah kelas CLSKK lebih baik dari pada kelas KV; (3) peningkatan kemampuan koneksi siswa kelompok KAM tinggi dan rendah kelas CLSKK dan KV tidak berbeda secara signifikan; dan (4) peningkatan kemampuan koneksi siswa kelompok KAM sedang kelas CLSKK lebih baik daripada kelas KV. This research is a quasi experimental research aiming to analyze the difference of the improvement of mathematical connection and reasoning abilities between the students receiving cooperative learning using cognitive conflict strategy (CLCC) and the students receiving conventional learning (CL). It is either observed in general or is observed based on each mathematical prior ability (MPA) of the students--high, medium, and low. The subject of the research is the 8th-grade students in Junior High School 14 in Bandung, which two classes are taken as the sample from the available eight classes. The research design used is nonrandomized control group and pretest-posttest design. The findings of the research show that the students’ improvement of mathematical reasoning and connection abilities in CLCC class is better than the students in CL. Moreover, the findings based on mathematical prior ability show that: (1) the students’ improvement of reasoning with high MPA in CLCC and in CL are not significantly different; (2) the students’ improvement of reasoning with medium and low MPA in CLCC are better than in CL; (3) the students’ improvement of connection mathematic ability with high and low MPA in CLCC and in CL are not significantly different; (4) and the students’ improvement of mathematical connection ability with medium MPA in CLCC are better than in CL.
