Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada materi perubahan wujud zat. Peserta didik masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis perubahan wujud zat dan menghubungkannya dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Hal ini disebabkan oleh pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru dan kurang melibatkan peserta didik secara aktif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas model Guided Discovery Learning berbantuan PhET Simulation terhadap pemahaman konsep IPAS peserta didik fase B di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental one group pretest-posttest. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes pretest dan posttest yang dianalisis menggunakan uji paired sample t-test dan uji N-Gain. Hasil uji paired sample t-test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,001 < 0,05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest. Hasil uji N-Gain menunjukkan nilai sebesar 0,8439 yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian, model Guided Discovery Learning berbantuan PhET Simulation terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada materi perubahan wujud zat. This study was motivated by the low conceptual understanding of students on the topic of changes in the states of matter. Students still find it difficult to identify the types of changes and to relate them to daily life situations. This issue arises due to teacher-centered learning approaches that limit students’ active involvement. The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the Guided Discovery Learning model assisted by PhET Simulation in improving students' conceptual understanding of IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies) at the primary school level. This research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest. Data were collected through pretest and posttest, and analyzed using paired sample t-test and N-Gain. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. The N-Gain value was 0.8439, which falls into the high category. Therefore, the Guided Discovery Learning model assisted by PhET Simulation is proven to be effective in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding of changes in the states of matter.
