Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan atas latar belakang tentang permasalahan yang sering timbul dalam dunia pendidikan tidak terlepas dari peran guru serta sikap peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Dalam penelitian ini, masalah yang timbul yakni penggunaan metode ceramah oleh guru yang masih dipakai ditengah capaian keterampilan abad 21 serta lemahnya kemampuan siswa dalam berkomunikasi dengan baik yang menghambat kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang seharusnya mampu terbangun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas model pembelajaran RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) sebagai upaya dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas 5 pada materi siklus air. Adapun indikator berpikir kritis dalam penelitian ini meliputi focus, reason, inference, situation, clarity, overview. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pra-eksperimen tipe one group pretest-posttest Design. Peneliti memilih 23 peserta didik dari SDN 007 Cipaganti sebagai sampel dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan instrumen tes berupa pretest dan posttest dalam bentuk uraian sebanyak 10 soal. Lebih lanjut, analisis dalam dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan uji statistik validitas, reliabilitas, normalitas, homogenitas, paired sample test, dan n-gain. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, instrumen data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini valid dengan taraf reliabilitas tinggi, berdistribusi normal dan nilai n-gain cukup efektif. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, dapat disimpulkan bahwasanya penggunaan model RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sd pada materi siklus air. This research was conducted based on the background of problems that frequently arise in the world of education, which are inseparable from the role of teachers and student attitudes in the learning process. In this study, problems that emerged were the continued use of lecture methods by teachers amidst the achievement of 21st century skills and student’s weak communication skills, which hinder students’ critical thinking skills, which should be developed. This study aims to test effectiveness of the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) learning model as an effort to improve the critical thinking skills of 5th grade students on the water cycle material. The Indicators of critical thinking in this study include focus, reason, inference, situation, clarity, overview. This study used a quantitative method with a pre-ecperimental design of the one group pretest-posttest Design. The researcher selected 23 students from SDN 007 Cipaganti as samples using the technique simple random sampling. This study utilized a pretest and posttest in the form of a descriptive test consisting of 10 questions. Furthermore, the analysis in this study was conducted using statistical test of validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity, paired sampel test, and n-gain. Based on the data obtained, the data instrument used in this study is valid with a high level of reliability, normally distributed and the n-gain value is quite effevtive. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the use of the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) model is effective in impriving students’ critical thinking skills in the water cycle material.
