    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep rantai makanan yang bersifat abstrak, serta terbatasnya penggunaan media pembelajaran inovatif di sekolah dasar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media digital interaktif berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep rantai makanan. Metode penelitian menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas V SDN di kota Bandung. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, validasi ahli, dan tes pemahaman konsep. Hasil validasi menunjukkan media dinyatakan sangat layak oleh ahli media (97,9%), layak oleh ahli materi (92,3%), dan sangat layak oleh guru (100%). Uji coba kepada siswa menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan nilai rata-rata pretest (50,96) ke posttest (89,56) dengan gain score 0,77 (kategori tinggi). Berdasarkan indikator pemahaman Anderson & Krathwohl, terjadi peningkatan tertinggi pada aspek classifying (0,67) dan merata pada explaining, exemplifying, summarizing, dan inferring. Kesimpulannya, media Rama the Explorer terbukti efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep rantai makanan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi praktis bagi guru dalam memanfaatkan media digital berbasis PBL untuk pembelajaran IPA di SD. This research was motivated by the low level of students’ understanding of the food chain concept, which is abstract in nature, as well as the limited use of innovative learning media in elementary schools. The purpose of this study was to develop an interactive digital media based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) that is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ conceptual understanding of food chains. The research employed the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) with fifth-grade students at an elementary school in Bandung as the subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, expert validation, and concept understanding tests. The validation results indicated that the media was rated very feasible by media experts (97.9%), feasible by material experts (92.3%), and very feasible by teachers (100%). Trials with students showed a significant improvement in the average score from pretest (50.96) to posttest (89.56), with a gain score of 0.77 (high category). Based on Anderson & Krathwohl’s understanding indicators, the highest improvement occurred in the classifying aspect (0.67), with consistent increases in explaining, exemplifying, summarizing, and inferring. In conclusion, Rama the Explorer proved to be effective in enhancing students’ understanding of the food chain concept. This research provides practical contributions for teachers in utilizing digital media based on PBL for science learning in elementary schools.
