    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPS, yang disebabkan oleh penggunaan metode pembelajaran konvensional yang kurang interaktif dan tidak melibatkan partisipasi aktif siswa. Kurangnya variasi media mengakibatkan siswa menjadi pasif, kurang fokus, dan tidak menunjukkan antusiasme terhadap materi pelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh media Padlet terhadap peningkatan minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dan desain nonequivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 35 Bandung, terdiri dari kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan media Padlet dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan media PowerPoint. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket minat belajar, dengan analisis data menggunakan uji paired sample t-test dan independent sample t-test berbantuan SPSS versi 22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan minat belajar siswa antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan di kelas eksperimen. Nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) < 0,05 menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan setelah penggunaan media Padlet. Berdasarkan hasil perbandingan, rata-rata skor minat belajar siswa di kelas eksperimen juga lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Peningkatan ini terjadi secara merata pada seluruh indikator minat belajar, seperti perasaan senang, keterlibatan, ketertarikan, dan perhatian. Indikator perhatian dan keterlibatan mengalami perkembangan paling mencolok, yang menegaskan bahwa Padlet mampu menciptakan pembelajaran yang partisipatif, kolaboratif, dan menyenangkan. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Padlet cukup efektif secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan minat belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS. This research was motivated by the low level of students’ interest in learning Social Studies, which is largely due to the use of conventional teaching methods that are less interactive and do not involve active student participation. The lack of media variation has resulted in students becoming passive, less focused, and unenthusiastic about the subject matter. This study aimed to analyze the effect of using Padlet as a learning medium on enhancing students’ interest in learning Social Studies. A quantitative approach was applied with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects were eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 35 Bandung, consisting of an experimental class that used Padlet and a control class that used PowerPoint. Data were collected through a learning interest questionnaire and analyzed using paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test with the assistance of SPSS version 22. The findings revealed differences in students’ learning interest before and after treatment in the experimental class. The significance value (2-tailed) < 0.05 indicated a significant effect of using Padlet. Comparative results also showed that the average learning interest score in the experimental class was higher than that in the control class. The improvement occurred consistently across all learning interest indicators, such as enjoyment, engagement, curiosity, and attention, with attention and engagement showing the most notable progress. These results confirm Padlet’s ability to create participatory, collaborative, and enjoyable learning. Therefore, it can be concluded that Padlet is significantly effective in increasing students’ interest in learning Social Studies.
