Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan pemecahan masalah peserta didik pada materi gelombang. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pre-experimental design dengan one-group pretest-posttest design dengan sampel sebanyak 35 orang peserta didik pada salah satu sekolah SMA Negeri di Kota Bandung. Pada penelitian ini, instrumen yang digunakan adalah pretest dan posttest kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan pemecahan masalah. Instrumen tes berupa 15 soal pilihan ganda untuk kemampuan kognitif sesuai dengan indikatornya, 5 soal essay untuk keterampilan pemecahan masalah sesuai dengan indikatornya, keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran, dan angket respon peserta didik. Uji yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah Uji N-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan kognitif peserta didik dengan perolehan skor pretest sebesar 32,65, dan posttest sebesar 81,94, dengan hasil N-Gain 0,72 yang artinya ada peningkatan kemampuan kognitif peserta didik termasuk ke dalam kategori tinggi. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap keterampilan pemecahan masalah peserta didik dengan perolehan skor pretest sebesar 29,71, posttest sebesar 79,42, dengan hasil N-Gain 0,70 yang artinya ada peningkatan keterampilan pemecahan masalah termasuk ke dalam kategori tinggi. Keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) memperoleh hasil sebesar 100% yang artinya keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) termasuk ke dalam kategori sangat baik. Hasil angket respon siswa yaitu persentase respon siswa sebesar 84,85% termasuk kategori sangat baik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan pemecahan masalah pada materi gelombang dengan kategori tinggi. This study aims to describe and analyze the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model in improving students' cognitive abilities and problem-solving skills in wave materials. The method used in this study is a quantitative method. The design used in this study is a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design with a sample of 35 students at one of the State High School schools in the city of Bandung. In this study, the instruments used were pretest and posttest of cognitive ability and problem-solving skills. The test instrument was in the form of 15 multiple-choice questions for cognitive abilities according to the indicators, 5 essay questions for problem-solving skills according to the indicators, the implementation of the learning model, and the student response questionnaire. The test conducted in this study is the N-gain Test. The results of the study showed that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on students' cognitive abilities with a pretest score of 32.65, and a posttest score of 81.94, with an N-Gain result of 0.72 which means that there is an increase in students' cognitive abilities included in the high category. The results of the study also showed that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model for students' problem-solving skills with a pretest score of 29.71, posttest score of 79.42, with an N-Gain result of 0.70 which means that there is an increase in problem-solving skills included in the high category. The implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model obtained 100% results, which means that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model is included in the very good category. The results of the student response questionnaire were 84.85% of student responses, including the very good category. It can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model shows an increase in cognitive ability and problem-solving skills in wave materials with a high category.
