Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan e-book benzena dan turunannya dengan konteks pencelupan zat warna tekstil yang dikembangkan menggunakan metode Four Steps Teaching Material Development (4STMD) untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMK Teknik Penyempurnaan Tekstil (TPT). Penelitian ini dilakukan karena mata pelajaran projek IPAS tidak dapat mengakomodir konten kimia untuk semua elemen kejuruan. Di sisi lain, keterampilan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang dibutuhkan siswa SMK dalam menghadapi berbagai tantangan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Metode Design & Development Research (DDR) tipe product and tool research digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yang terdiri dari fase desain, pengembangan, dan evaluasi. Penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas XII SMK TPT sebanyak 65 siswa untuk uji karakterisasi, 66 siswa untuk uji keterpahaman, dan 26 siswa untuk implementasi. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu convenience sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-book yang dihasilkan memiliki karakteristik sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum, fokus pada materi esensial, benar secara keilmuan, terintegrasi dengan konteks kejuruan SMK TPT dan aspek keterampilan berpikir kritis. Uji kelayakan dari aspek standar Pusbuk, kontekstual, dan keterampilan berpikir kritis menunjukkan kategori "sangat layak" sedangkan hasil uji keterpahaman menunjukkan tingkat keterpahaman dengan kategori tinggi. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan bahwa e-book ini mampu meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMK TPT secara signifikan dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% (α=0,05). Selain itu, terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat kuat antara penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa setelah menggunakan e-book ini dengan koefisien korelasi Spearman’s rho sebesar 0,9909. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-book benzena dan turunannya dengan konteks pencelupan zat warna tekstil yang dikembangkan menggunakan 4STMD mampu meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMK TPT This study aims to produce e-book on benzene and its derivatives in the textile dyeing context developed using the Four Steps Teaching Material Development (4STMD) method to improve the concept mastery and critical thinking skills of students of Textile Finishing Engineering (TPT) VHS. This study was conducted because the IPAS project subject could not accommodate chemistry content for all vocational elements. On the other hand, critical thinking skills are one of the abilities needed by vocational high school students in facing various challenges in everyday life. The Design & Development Research (DDR) method of product and tool research type was used in this study, which consists of design, development, and evaluation phases. This study involved 65 students of grade XII of TPT VHS for the characterization test, 66 students for understadability test, and 26 students for the implementation. The sampling technique used was convenience sampling. The results showed that the e-book produced has characteristics in accordance with the curriculum demands, focuses on essential materials, is scientifically correct, is integrated with the vocational context of TPT VHS and critical thinking skills aspects. The feasibility test of the Pusbuk standard, contextual, and critical thinking skills aspects showed a "very feasible" category while the results of the understandability test showed a high level of understandability. The implementation results showed that this e-book can significantly improve the concept mastery and critical thinking skills of TPT SMK students. In addition, there is a very strong positive relationship between concept mastery and critical thinking skills of students after using this e-book with a Spearman's rho correlation coefficient of 0.9909. Thus, it can be concluded that the e-book on benzene and its derivatives with textile dyeing context developed using 4STMD can improve the concept mastery and critical thinking skills of TPT VHS students.
