    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang tergolong rendah, yaitu 8%. Untuk mengatasi hal itu diperlukan pembelajaran yang dapat membawa matematika dari pelajaran yang bersifat abstrak menjadi konkret, salah satu diantaranya adalah dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengkaji peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa setelah menerima pembelajaran Connecting, Organizing, Relecting, Extending (CORE) serta meninjau kesesuaian penerapannya berdasarkan Kemampuan Awal Matematis siswa.. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest and posttest with non-equivalent control group yang melibatkan satu kelas eksperimen menggunakan model pembelajaran CORE dan satu kelas kontrol menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI semester genap tahun ajaran 2024/2025 di salah satu SMA di Kota Bandung. Dalam penelitian ini pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran CORE lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional secara keseluruhan. Adapun berdasarkan KAM, peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran CORE lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran konvensional berdasarkan KAM siswa tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran CORE lebih efektif dalam menigkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. This research is motivated by the low mathematical problem-solving ability of students, which is 8%. To overcome this, learning is needed that can bring mathematics from an abstract lesson to a concrete one, one of which is by using the CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) learning model. The purpose of this study is to examine the improvement of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities after receiving Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending (CORE) learning and to review the suitability of its application based on students' Initial Mathematical Ability. This study uses a quantitative approach, a quasi-experimental method with a pretest and posttest design with a non-equivalent control group involving one experimental class using the CORE learning model and one control class using conventional learning. The population in this study were all grade XI students in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year at one of the high schools in Bandung City. In this study, sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. The results of this study indicate that the achievement and improvement of problem-solving abilities of students who received the CORE learning model were significantly higher than students who received conventional learning overall. Based on the KAM, the improvement in problem-solving abilities of students who received the CORE learning model was significantly higher compared to students who received the conventional learning model based on high, medium, and low KAM of students. Thus, the CORE learning model is more effective in improving students' mathematical problem-solving abilities.
