Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji keefektifan inkuiri terbimbing dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik, serta hubungan antara kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif quasi experimental design dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 59 siswa kelas XI di salah satu SMA Swasta Kabupaten Bandung. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah convenience sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berjumlah 20 butir soal kemampuan kognitif dan 10 butir soal keterampilan proses sains. Teknik analisis data menggunakan N-Gain, effect size, dan analisis regresi dan korelasi linear. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan proses sains. Untuk kelas eksperimen diperoleh N-Gain masing-masing sebesar 0,95 dan 0,93 pada kategori tinggi, yang lebih besar peningkatannya dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol yaitu dengan masing-masing nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,42 dan 0,45, keduanya berada pada kategori sedang. Model Inkuiri Terbimbing berdampak pada peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik dengan masing-masing nilai effect size yaitu 2,99 dan 2,64 dengan kategori tinggi. Kemampuan kognitif cukup berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,85 pada kategori kuat The purpose of this research was to test the effectiveness of guided inquiry learning model in improving cognitive abilities and science process skills of students, as well as the relationship between cognitive abilities and science process skills of students. The research method used was quantitative quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The sample of this study amounted to 59 students in grade XI in one of the Privat High Schools. The sampling technique used was convenience sampling. The instruments used amounted to 20 items of cognitive ability and 10 items of science process skills. Data analysis techniques using N-Gain, effect size, and linear regression and correlation analysis. The results showed differences in the improvement of cognitive abilities and science process skills. The experimental class obtained N-Gain of 0.95 and 0.93 in the high category, respectively, which was greater than the control class, with N-Gain values of 0.43 and 0.45, respectively, both are in the medium category. The guided inquiry learning model has an impact on improving students' cognitive abilities and science process skills with each effect size value of 2,99 and 2,64 in the high category. Cognitive ability is quite influential in improving students' critical thinking skills with a correlation coefficient of 0.85 in the high category.
