    Abstract

    Menurut beberapa penelitian kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan motivasi belajar siswa masih belum optimal sehingga perlu ada upaya untuk mengoptimalkan kemampuan tersebut. Berbadasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan pengaruh metode GASING (Gampang Asyik Menyenangkan) berbantuan SMART Box terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan motivasi belajar siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan tipe kuasi eksperimen. Desain penelitan yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttes control group design. Kelas kontrol mengimplementasikan pembelajaran dengan metode ekspositori berbantuan SMART Box dan kelas eksperimen pembelajaran GASING berbantuan SMART Box. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian siswa kelas III di dua SD negeri di Kabupaten Sumedang sebanyak 21 siswa di kelas kontrol dan 21 siswa di kelas eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes pemahaman konsep matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (i) Penggunaan metode GASING berbantuan SMART Box berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis dan motivasi belajar siswa; (ii) Kriteria peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis yang menggunakan metode GASING tergolong dalam kategori tinggi sementara yang menggunakan metode ekspositori dalam kategori sedang. Sedangkan kriteria peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa yang menggunakan metode GASING maupun metode ekspositori tergolong dalam kategori rendah. (iii) Pembelajaran metode GASING berbantuan SMART Box berpengaruh lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran ekspositori terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis. Sementara itu baik pembelajaran metode GASING maupun pembelajaran ekspositori tidak terdapat perbedaan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa. According to several studies, students' mathematical concept understanding and learning motivation are still not optimal, so efforts are needed to optimize these abilities. Based on this, this study aims to analyze and describe the effect of the GASING (Easy, Fun, and Enjoyable) method assisted by SMART Box on students' mathematical concept understanding and learning motivation in elementary schools. The research method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The research design used was a pretest-posttest control group design. The control class implemented learning using the expository method assisted by the SMART Box, while the experimental class used the GASING method assisted by the SMART Box. The sample used in this study consisted of 21 students in the control class and 21 students in the experimental class, all of whom were third-grade students at two public elementary schools in Sumedang Regency. The instrument used was a mathematical concept comprehension test. The results of the study indicate that (i) the use of the GASING method assisted by SMART Box has a significant effect on students' mathematical concept understanding and learning motivation; (ii) the criteria for improving mathematical concept understanding using the GASING method are classified as high, while those using the expository method are classified as moderate. Meanwhile, the criteria for improving students' learning motivation using both the GASING method and the expository method are classified as low. (iii) Learning using the GASING method assisted by the SMART Box had a higher effect than expository learning on improving mathematical concept understanding. Meanwhile, there was no difference in the effect of either the GASING method or expository learning on improving students' learning motivation.
