Annisa Laela Putri, - (2025) PENERAPAN MODEL PROJECT BASED LEARNING (PjBL) BERBASIS EKOPEDAGOGIK PADA MATERI PELESTARIAN LINGKUNGAN TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KREATIF: Penelitian Kuasi Eksperimen pada Siswa Kelas IV di Dua Sekolah Dasar Kecamatan Majalaya Kabupaten Bandung. S1 thesis, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
Abstract
--------- This study is motivated by the demands of 21st-century skills, particularly creative thinking, which remains relatively low among Indonesian students based on international PISA assessments. At the same time, environmental issues have become urgent global problems that need to be addressed through education. However, learning practices in elementary schools still make limited use of innovative models that foster exploration, creativity, and environmental awareness. The aim of this research is to examine the effect of applying an ecopedagogy-based project-based learning (PjBL) model on students’ creative thinking skills and to compare it with a scientific-based discovery learning model in the context of environmental conservation. The method used was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design of the matching-only pretest-posttest control group, involving fourth-grade elementary school students as subjects. Data were collected through pretest and posttest essay tests to measure fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The findings reveal a significant effect of implementing the ecopedagogy-based PjBL model on students’ creative thinking, with an N-gain score of 0.7214 (high category). Results from the paired sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The study also found significant differences between students’ creative thinking skills taught through ecopedagogy-based PjBL and those taught through scientific-based discovery learning, as indicated by the independent sample t-test with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. These findings recommend the application of project-based learning integrated with environmental issues as an alternative 21st-century learning strategy in elementary schools.
