Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada pembelajaran pengukuran luas dan volume satuan tidak baku dan satuan, terutama dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan penggunaan pendekatan realistic mathematics education berbantuan smart apps creator terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dan perbedaan peningkatan dari kelas yang menggunakan media smart apps creator dan kelas menggunakan media powerpoint. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian kuantitatif ini yaitu metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain the non-equivalent control group design melalui pretest dan posttest. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu siswa kelas IV pada dua sekolah dasar negeri di Kecamatan Bojongsoang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis terlihat dari hasil penelitian yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 57,48 dan nilai rata-rata Posttest sebesar 82,61 dengan peningkatan sebesar 25,13 di kelas eksperimen. Adapun perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen, terjadi peningkatan dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,6027, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol terjadi peningkatan dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,5307. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang signifikan pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan uji-t dua sampel yang dilakukan menunjukkan nilai sig.(2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05, maka H0 ditolak yang artinya terdapat perbedaan peningkatan komunikasi matematis antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan realistic mathematisc education berbantuan smart apps creator dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa sekolah dasar. -------- This study was motivated by the low level of students' mathematical communication skills in learning about the measurement of area and volume of non-standard units and units, especially in solving story problems. The purpose of this study is to determine the improvement in students' mathematical communication skills through the use of a realistic mathematics education approach assisted by smart app creators, as well as the differences in improvement between classes using smart app creators and those using PowerPoint. The quantitative research method employed in this study is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design, utilizing pretest and posttest assessments. The sample consisted of fourth-grade students from two public elementary schools in Bojongsoang District. The results showed an improvement in mathematical communication skills, as indicated by the pretest average score of 57.48 and the posttest average score of 82.61, with an increase of 25.13 in the experimental class. There was a difference in the improvement of mathematical communication skills between the experimental class and the control class. In the experimental class, there was an increase with an average N-Gain of 0.6027, while in the control class, there was an increase with an average N-Gain of 0.5307. This indicates that there is a significant difference in the improvement of mathematical communication skills between the experimental class and the control class. This is proven by the two-sample t-test.
