    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas media dalam pembelajaran matematika berbasis penemuan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis melalui pendekatan meta-analisis serta implementasinya di sekolah. Meta-analisis dilakukan terhadap 53 studi primer yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi berdasarkan protokol PRISMA. Hasil meta-analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis peserta didik, dengan nilai effect size gabungan sebesar 1,604 yang termasuk kategori tinggi menurut kriteria Cohen. Sebagai tindak lanjut, hasil meta-analisis diimplementasikan pada kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Kota Bandung. Kelas eksperimen memperoleh model Problem-Based Learning berbantuan media GeoGebra, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Materi yang digunakan adalah persamaan garis lurus, yang disesuaikan dengan hasil meta-analisis dan kurikulum sekolah. Hasil uji-t dua sampel independen menunjukkan nilai thitung = 2,262 dan Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,030, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelas. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis penemuan dengan dukungan media GeoGebra lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis This study aims to examine the effectiveness of media in discovery-based mathematics learning on students’ mathematical critical thinking skills through a meta-analytical approach, as well as to explore its implementation in a school setting. A meta-analysis was conducted on 53 primary studies that met the inclusion criteria based on the PRISMA protocol. The results indicate that the use of media significantly enhances students’ mathematical critical thinking abilities, with a combined effect size of 1.604, categorized as high according to Cohen's criteria. As a follow-up, the findings were implemented in an eighth-grade classroom at SMP Negeri 2 Kota Bandung. The experimental group engaged in Problem-Based Learning supported by GeoGebra media, while the control group received conventional instruction. The topic of linear equations was selected in alignment with both the meta-analytical results and the school curriculum. An independent samples t-test yielded a t-value of 2.262 with a significance level (2-tailed) of 0.030, indicating a statistically significant difference between the groups. These results suggest that discovery-based instruction integrated with GeoGebra media is more effective in improving students' mathematical critical thinking skills.
