Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kompetensi sosial emosional dan kecerdasan emosional kepala sekolah terhadap lingkungan sekolah yang positif bagi guru di Kecamatan Cibeunying Kidul, Kota Bandung. Lingkungan sekolah yang positif merupakan faktor penting dalam mendukung kesejahteraan, menciptakan kenyamanan kerja, serta meningkatkan kinerja guru. Kepala sekolah, sebagai pemimpin pendidikan, memegang peran sentral dalam membangun hubungan kerja yang sehat melalui keterampilan sosial dan emosional yang dimilikinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 198 guru sekolah dasar. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling berbasis Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) yang mencakup uji validitas dan reliabilitas, evaluasi model pengukuran (outer model), evaluasi model struktural (inner model), serta uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi sosial emosional dan kecerdasan emosional kepala sekolah berpengaruh positif dan signifikan, baik secara parsial maupun simultan, terhadap lingkungan sekolah yang positif bagi guru. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa semakin tinggi kecakapan sosial emosional dan kecerdasan emosional kepala sekolah, semakin positif pula iklim sekolah yang dirasakan guru. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pentingnya program pelatihan kepemimpinan berbasis kecerdasan emosional untuk memperkuat iklim kerja kondusif di sekolah dasar. --------- This study aims to examine the influence of principals’ social-emotional competence and emotional intelligence on creating a positive school environment for teachers in Cibeunying Kidul District, Bandung City. A positive school environment is an essential factor in promoting teachers’ well-being, ensuring workplace comfort, and enhancing their performance. As educational leaders, principals play a pivotal role in shaping a healthy work climate through their social and emotional skills. This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 198 elementary school teachers. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), which included validity and reliability testing, evaluation of the measurement model (outer model), evaluation of the structural model (inner model), and hypothesis testing. The findings reveal that principals’ socialemotional competence and emotional intelligence, both individually and simultaneously, have a positive and significant effect on a positive school environment for teachers. This indicates that the higher the principals’ socialemotional competence and emotional intelligence, the more positive the school climate perceived by teachers. The study recommends the implementation of leadership training programs focusing on emotional intelligence to strengthen a supportive and conducive work environment in elementary schools.
