Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh semakin kuatnya arus globalisasi yang berpotensi mengikis nilai moral dan budaya bangsa, sehingga sekolah dasar sebagai lembaga pendidikan formal memiliki peran penting dalam membangun karakter siswa melalui internalisasi nilai-nilai kearifan lokal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis implementasi kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah berbasis nilai kearifan lokal Sunda dalam menguatkan karakter siswa sekolah dasar di Kota Bandung, mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor pendukungnya, merumuskan strategi yang digunakan, serta menilai efektivitasnya dalam pembentukan karakter siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus yang melibatkan kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa di sepuluh sekolah dasar, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi, serta dianalisis secara tematik menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik untuk menjamin keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi kepemimpinan transformasional dilakukan melalui tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi dengan mengintegrasikan nilai silih asah, silih asih, silih asuh serta karakter cageur, bageur, bener, pinter, tur singer. Faktor pendukung utama mencakup komitmen kepala sekolah, dukungan guru, partisipasi orang tua, serta iklim sekolah yang kondusif. Strategi yang digunakan meliputi keteladanan, motivasi inspiratif, stimulasi intelektual, dan perhatian individual kepada siswa maupun guru. Kesimpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional berbasis kearifan lokal Sunda terbukti efektif dalam memperkuat karakter siswa, khususnya pada aspek disiplin, tanggung jawab, empati, dan kecintaan terhadap budaya lokal, serta direkomendasikan untuk dikembangkan melalui kebijakan pendidikan yang menekankan integrasi nilai-nilai budaya lokal dan pelatihan berkelanjutan bagi kepala sekolah serta guru. --------- This study is motivated by the challenges of globalization that may erode moral values and weaken the character of young generations, highlighting the strategic role of elementary schools in instilling character education through the internalization of local wisdom. The purpose of this research is to analyze the implementation of transformational leadership of school principals based on Sundanese local wisdom in strengthening the character of elementary school students in Bandung City, to identify its supporting factors, to formulate the strategies applied, and to assess its effectiveness in character building. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving principals, teachers, and students from ten elementary schools. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and analyzed thematically with source and technique triangulation to ensure data validity. The findings revealed that the implementation of transformational leadership was carried out through planning, implementation, and evaluation stages, integrating the values of silih asah, silih asih, silih asuh and the principles of cageur, bageur, bener, pinter, tur singer. The main supporting factors included the commitment of principals, teacher support, parental involvement, and a conducive school climate. The applied strategies consisted of role modeling, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration for both teachers and students. The study concludes that transformational leadership grounded in Sundanese local wisdom is effective in strengthening student character, particularly in discipline, responsibility, empathy, and cultural appreciation, and recommends further development through educational policies that emphasize the integration of local values and continuous professional training for principals and teachers
