Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan kemampuan penyelesaian soal cerita siswa masih rendah. Hal ini dibuktikan dari hasil belajar siswa yang memiliki ketidakmampuan dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan dalam bentuk soal cerita. Ketika siswa dihadapkan dengan soal cerita, mereka akan merasa kesulitan dalam memahami masalah pada soal dan tidak dapat menentukan informasi yang diketahui dan informasi yang ditanyakan dalam soal. Selain itu, siswa juga merasa kesulitan dalam mengubah soal ke dalam bentuk matematika serta bagaimana cara perhitungannya. Sebagai Solusi, penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh model Problem Based Learning berbantuan digital comic strips terhadap kemampuan penyelesaian soal cerita siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning berbantuan digital comic strips terhadap kemampuan penyelesaian soal cerita siswa di sekolah dasar serta melihat perbedaan kemampuan penyelesaian soal cerita siswa yang diberikan pembelajaran menggunakan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan digital comic strips dan dengan tidak berbantuan digital comic strips. Metode yang digunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Populasi penelitian yaitu siswa kelas V di dua sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Margaasih: SDN Rahayu 01 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan SDN Rahayu 02 sebagai kelas kontrol, masing-masing dengan 25 peserta didik. Adapun hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan kemampuan penyelesaian soal cerita pada kelas eksperimen, dengan rata-rata nilai pre-test 47,65 dan post-test 72,70 serta signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000. Perbedaan signifikan juga terlihat antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol, dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (< 0,05). Dengan demikian, model Problem Based Learning berbantuan digital comic strips dapat dianggap sebagai alternatif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penyelesaian soal cerita siswa pada materi KPK dan FPB. -------- This study was motivated by the problem of students’ low ability in solving word problems. This is evidenced by students' learning outcomes, which indicate a lack of ability to solve problems presented in the form of word problems. When faced with such problems, students often struggle to understand the context, identify the known and unknown information, and convert the problem into mathematical form and operations. As a solution, this research examines the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by digital comic strips on students' word problem-solving abilities. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the PBL model assisted by digital comic strips on elementary students’ ability to solve word problems, and to compare the problem-solving abilities of students taught using the PBL model with and without digital comic strip assistance. The method used was a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The study population consisted of fifth grade students from two elementary schools in Margaasih District: SDN Rahayu 01 as the experimental class and SDN Rahayu 02 as the control class, each with 25 students. The research findings showed a significant increase in the ability to solve story problems in the experimental class, with an average pre-test score of 47.65 and post-test of 72.70 and a significance (2-tailed) of 0.000. A significant difference was also found between the experimental and control classes, with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Therefore, the Problem Based Learning model assisted by digital comic strips can be considered an effective alternative for improving students’ ability to solve word problems in the LCM and GCF material.
