Abstract
Permasalahan kepercayaan diri pada remaja di Indonesia merupakan isu krusial yang perlu mendapat perhatian serius. Data I-NAMHS (2022) menunjukkan 34,9% remaja mengalami masalah kesehatan mental, namun hanya 2,6% yang mengakses bantuan profesional. Rendahnya representasi positif di media memperparah kondisi ini, menyebabkan remaja sulit menemukan figur dan narasi yang memberdayakan. Untuk menjawab kesenjangan tersebut, penelitian ini merancang film mokumenter “Cahaya Tersembunyi” sebagai media edukasi yang bertujuan membangun kepercayaan diri remaja melalui narasi yang relevan dan emosional. Permasalahan yang diangkat meliputi bagaimana proses perancangan film ini dilakukan serta sejauh mana pesan edukatifnya dapat tersampaikan kepada audiens. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan Practice-Led Research (PLR), meliputi tahapan persiapan, imajinasi, pengembangan imajinasi, pengerjaan, dan evaluasi. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi literatur dan kuesioner terbuka yang diberikan kepada remaja setelah menonton film. Proses kreatif memanfaatkan teknik sinematik khas mokumenter seperti breaking the fourth wall untuk menciptakan kedekatan emosional. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan audiens memahami pesan, merasa terwakili, dan termotivasi untuk membangun kepercayaan diri. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa mokumenter dapat menjadi media efektif untuk edukasi kesehatan mental remaja, sekaligus menjadi model intervensi kreatif berbasis seni yang relevan dengan perkembangan media modern. ----------- The issue of self-confidence among Indonesian adolescents is a crucial concern that requires serious attention. Data from the I-NAMHS (2022) shows that 34.9% of adolescents experience mental health problems, yet only 2.6% access professional help. The lack of positive representation in the media exacerbates this condition, making it difficult for adolescents to find empowering figures and narratives. To address this gap, this research designed the mockumentary film Cahaya Tersembunyi as an educational medium aimed at fostering adolescent self-confidence through relevant and emotional storytelling. The study focuses on how the film was designed and the extent to which its educational message is effectively conveyed to the audience. A qualitative approach using Practice-Led Research (PLR) was employed, consisting of preparation, imagination, imagination development, production, and evaluation stages. Data were collected through literature studies and open-ended questionnaires given to adolescents after viewing the film. The creative process utilized distinctive mockumentary cinematic techniques such as breaking the fourth wall to create emotional engagement. Evaluation results indicate that the audience understood the message, felt represented, and were motivated to build self-confidence. This research concludes that mockumentaries can be an effective medium for adolescent mental health education and serve as a creative, art-based intervention model relevant to modern media development.
