    Abstract

    Kalimantan Timur saat ini tengah mengalami percepatan pembangunan infrastruktur secara signifikan, salah satunya adalah jalan tol, setelah ditetapkannya sebagai lokasi Ibu Kota Negara baru Indonesia. Maka dari itu diperlukan penelitian untuk mengidentifikasi kondisi litologi bawah permukaan pada area Jalan Tol Segmen 3B Kariangau–Tempadung, Kalimantan Timur, menggunakan metode seismik refraksi dan Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW). Metode seismik refraksi digunakan untuk memperoleh distribusi kecepatan gelombang primer (Vp), sedangkan metode MASW menghasilkan distribusi kecepatan gelombang geser (Vs). Dengan mengintegrasikan keduanya, diperoleh parameter elastisitas berupa nilai Poisson’s Ratio sebagai indikator elastisitas dan tingkat kejenuhan litologi bawah permukaan. Hasil interpretasi nilai Vp, Vs, dan poisson’s ratio menunjukkan bahwa ketiga lintasan penelitian didominasi oleh lapisan lempung jenuh dan batupasir lunak, dengan nilai Vp berkisar antara 770–4269 m/s, Vs antara 187–534 m/s, dan Poisson’s Ratio mencapai >0,45 di ketiga lokasi penelitian. Lintasan 1 memiliki karakteristik lempung jenuh dengan Vs < 250 m/s dan Poisson’s Ratio hingga 0,49, mengindikasikan tanah sangat lunak. Lintasan 2 menunjukkan tanah yang sedikit lebih kaku dengan konsolidasi sedang, meskipun nilai Poisson’s Ratio tetap tinggi (>0,46). Lintasan 3 menunjukkan batupasir lunak jenuh dengan nilai Vs >330 m/s dan Poisson’s Ratio hingga 0,50, menandakan kejenuhan tinggi pada lapisan lempung dan batupasir. Hasil interpretasi dan analisis nilai Vp, Vs, dan poisson’s ratio ini menyatakan bahwa di lokasi penelitian memiliki daya dukung yang rendah, potensi penurunan tanah, dan heterogenitas bawah permukaan yang dapat menjadi pertimbangan teknis dalam perencanaan infrastruktur. East Kalimantan is currently undergoing a significant acceleration of infrastructure development, including toll roads, following its designation as the new capital city of Indonesia. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research to identify the subsurface lithological conditions along the Segment 3B of the Kariangau–Tempadung Toll Road in East Kalimantan using Seismic Refraction and Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) methods. The seismic refraction method was employed to obtain the distribution of primary wave velocity (Vp), while the MASW method provided the distribution of shear wave velocity (Vs). By integrating both methods, elastic parameters such as Poisson’s Ratio were derived as indicators of subsurface lithology elasticity and saturation levels. Interpretation of the Vp, Vs, and Poisson’s Ratio values revealed that all three survey lines are dominated by saturated clay and soft sandstone layers, with Vp values ranging from 770 to 4269 m/s, Vs values from 187 to 534 m/s, and Poisson’s Ratio exceeding 0.45 across all sites. Line 1 is characterized by saturated clay with Vs < 250 m/s and Poisson’s Ratio up to 0.49, indicating very soft soil. Line 2 exhibits slightly stiffer soil with moderate consolidation, although the Poisson’s Ratio remains high (>0.46). Line 3 shows saturated soft sandstone with Vs > 330 m/s and Poisson’s Ratio reaching 0.50, indicating high saturation in both clay and sandstone layers. The interpretation and analysis of Vp, Vs, and Poisson’s Ratio values indicate that the study area has low bearing capacity, high settlement potential, and subsurface heterogeneity, which must be considered in infrastructure planning.
