    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika pada materi hubungan sudut pada dua garis sejajar ditinjau dari gaya belajar VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinestetik) berdasarkan teori kesalahan menurut Fong. Subjek penelitian adalah 29 siswa kelas VIII di salah satu SMP di Bandung. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen penelitian berupa observasi, tes tulis matematika, angket gaya belajar VAK dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan gaya belajar auditory memperoleh rata-rata nilai tertinggi. Hal ini diduga karena proses pembelajaran berlangsung dengan metode ceramah yang lebih sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa auditory. Metode pembelajaran yang tidak selaras dengan gaya belajar dominan dapat memengaruhi kualitas pemahaman siswa. Oleh karena itu, penting bagi guru untuk mengidentifikasi gaya belajar siswa dan mengadaptasikan metode pembelajaran yang lebih beragam agar kesalahan konsep dan miskonsepsi dapat diminimalkan. This study aims to analyze students' errors in solving mathematics problems on the topic of angle relationships in two parallel lines, viewed from the VAK learning styles (Visual, Audiotory, Kinesthetic) based on Fong’s error theory. The subjects of the study were 29 eighth-grade students from a junior high school in Bandung. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. The research instruments included observation, written mathematics tests, VAK learning style questionnaires, and interviews. The results showed that students with an auditory learning style achieved the highest average scores. This is suspected to be due to the lecture-based teaching method used during the learning process, which aligns more closely with the characteristics of auditory learners. Teaching methods that do not align with students’ dominant learning styles may affect the quality of their understanding. Therefore, it is important for teachers to identify students’ learning styles and adapt more varied teaching methods to minimize conceptual errors and misconceptions.
