Abstract
Kemampuan numerasi siswa yang rendah membutuhkan upaya peningkatan melalui integrasi di dalam pelajaran di sekolah, termasuk biologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pengaruh praktikum uji kadar glukosa dan kuantifikasi kalori dalam pembelajaran biologi terhadap kemampuan numerasi siswa pada konten data dan ketidakpastian. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pre-eksperimental dengan desain one-group pre-test post-test design. Partisipan pada penelitian ini adalah 33 siswa kelas XI dari salah satu SMA Negeri di Kota Bandung. Data penelitian ditinjau dari nilai pre-test dan post-test soal numerasi, observasi terhadap keterlaksanaan praktikum, dan respons siswa terhadap praktikum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktikum uji kadar glukosa dan kuantifikasi kalori berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan numerasi siswa pada konten data dan ketidakpastian. Pengaruh ini juga didukung dengan peningkatan kemampuan numerasi siswa berdasarkan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,359 yang berada pada kriteria peningkatan sedang. Selain itu, praktikum uji kadar glukosa dan kuantifikasi kalori masing-masing mendapatkan rata-rata skor keterlaksanaan praktikum yang dinilai berdasarkan aspek pra-praktikum, pelaksanaan praktikum, dan pasca-praktikum berturut-turut sebesar 88% dan 99%. Hasil respons siswa juga mendukung temuan dengan perolehan rata-rata persentase respons positif masing-masing terhadap numerasi pada konten data dan ketidakpastian sebesar 78,7%, teknis praktikum sebesar 75,4%, dan LKPD praktikum sebesar 75,9%. Dengan demikian, praktikum uji kadar glukosa dan kuantifikasi kalori dapat mendukung peningkatan kemampuan numerasi siswa. Students' low numeracy skills require improvement through integration into school subjects, including biology. This study aims to reveal the effect of glucose level testing and calorie quantification practical work on students' numeracy skills in data and uncertainty content. The method used in this study is pre-experimental with a one-group pre-test post-test design. The participants in this study were 33 eleventh-grade students from a public high school in Bandung. The research data were reviewed from the pre-test and post-test scores on numeracy, observations of the implementation of the practical activities, and students' responses to the practical activities. The results of the study indicate that glucose level testing and calorie quantification practical activities have a significant effect on students' numeracy skills in data content and uncertainty. This effect was also supported by an increase in students' numeracy skills based on an N-Gain score of 0.359, which falls within the moderate improvement criterion. Additionally, the glucose level testing and calorie quantification practical work each received an average practical implementation score which evaluated based on pre-practical, practical, and post-practical aspects, of 88% and 99%, respectively. Student responses also supported the findings, with average positive response percentages of 78.7% for numeracy in data and uncertainty content, 75.4% for practical techniques, and 75.9% for practical worksheets. Thus, practical work in glucose testing and calorie quantification can support the improvement of students' numeracy skills.
