    Abstract

    Latar belakang penelitian ini berfokus pada rendahnya kemampuan menyimak siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, khususnya pada materi teks berita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model discovery learning berbantuan media Educaplay dalam pembelajaran menyimak teks berita siswa kelas VII SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas, dengan berjumlah 66 orang siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Bandung yang terbagi menjadi 33 siswa kelas ekperimen dan 33 siswa kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran dari sekolah. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis pada posttest kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, diperoleh nilai sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,012. Nilai tersebut lebih kecil dari signifikansi 0,05. Dengan demikian, Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model Discovery learning berbantuan media Educaplay terbukti efektif secara signifikan dalam kemampuan menyimak teks berita siswa kelas VII SMP. The background of this study focuses on the low listening skills of students in classroom learning, particularly in news text material. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the discovery learning model assisted by Educaplay in learning to listen to news texts of seventh grade junior high school students. This study used a quasi-experimental method with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The Research sample consisted of two classes, totaling 66 seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bandung which were divided into 33 eksperimental class students and 33 control class students who used learning form school. Based on results of hypothesis test that there was a significant difference between the ability to listen to news texts of students in the experimental class and control class after being given treatment. The results of the hypothesis tets on the posttest of the experimental class and control class, obtained a sig, (2-tailed) of 0,012. The value is smaller than the significance of 0,05. Thus, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This indicates a significant difference between the two griups. It can be concluded that the use of discovery learning model assisted by Educaplay media has a significant effective in improving the ability to listen to news texts of seventh grade students of Junior High School.
