    Abstract

    Keterlibatan ayah dalam pola asuh anak masih rendah, terutama dalam masyarakat patriarki yang lebih menekankan peran ibu sebagai pengasuh utama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlibatan ayah dalam parenting style terhadap pemaknaan kemandirian anak, makna dari keterlibatan tersebut, serta hambatan dan peluang yang dihadapi. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologi dan teknik Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), untuk lebih memahami makna dari pengalaman partisipan secara mendalam, dengan data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara terhadap 10 ayah dan anak mereka di TK X Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makna keterlibatan ayah, baik melalui aktivitas sehari-hari maupun dukungan emosional terhadap upaya kemandirian anak, berkontribusi dalam menumbuhkan inisiatif, tanggung jawab, dan ayah yang terlibat secara aktif baik secara fisik maupun emosional mampu menumbuhkan rasa percaya diri anak. Namun, keterbatasan waktu, pekerjaan, dan kelelahan menjadi hambatan utama. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi referensi dalam pengembangan pola pengasuhan yang lebih seimbang serta meningkatkan kesadaran keluarga dan masyarakat tentang pentingnya kehadiran figur ayah dalam mendukung perkembangan anak usia dini. --------- Father's involvement in parenting is still low, especially in a patriarchal society that emphasizes the role of the mother as the main caregiver. This study aims to determine the father's involvement in parenting style towards the formation of children's independence, the impact of this involvement, as well as the obstacles and opportunities faced. The method used is a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design and Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) technique, to better understand the meaning of participants' experiences in depth, with data collected through interviews with 10 fathers and their children at TK X Bandung. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed that fathers' involvement, both through daily activities and emotional support for children's independence efforts, contributed to fostering initiative, responsibility, and fathers who were actively involved both physically and emotionally were able to foster children's self-confidence. However, time constraints, work, and fatigue are the main obstacles. It is hoped that the results of this study can be a reference in developing more balanced parenting patterns and increasing family and community awareness about the importance of the presence of father figures in supporting early childhood development.
