    Abstract

    Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis merupakan kemampuan awal yang perlu dimiliki peserta didik sebelum melanjutkan pada kemampuan yang lebih kompleks. Peserta didik kurang memahami konsep pemahaman matematis yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari menjadi latar belakang dari penelitian ini. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk: 1) mengetahui pengaruh model RME berbantuan media PhET Simulations terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik; 2) mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik sekolah dasar yang memperoleh model RME berbantuan PhET Simulations lebih baik dibandingkan peserta didik yang mendapatkan model PBL. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group. Sampel penelitiannya adalah peserta didik sekolah dasar kelas II di SDN 2 Nagri Kaler gugus 5 di Kabupaten Purwakarta, dengan populasi kelas IIC dan D. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes uraian kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan diperoleh kesimpulan: 1) Terdapat pengaruh menggunakan model RME berbantuan PhET Simulations peserta didik setiap peningkatan satu satuan akan meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik sebesar 42,1%, dan 2) Terdapat peningkatan dengan skor rata-rata nilai peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis pada kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model ini dapat dijadikan alternatif model pembelajaran karena berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik terutama kelas II sekolah dasar. ----- The proficiency in conceptualizing mathematics functions as a fundamental stage in preparing students for more sophisticated learning tasks. Students do not understand the concept of mathematical understanding related to everyday life as the background of this study. The targets are to: 1) determine the effect of the RME model assisted by PhET Simulations media on students' mathematical concept understanding abilities; 2) compare the enhancement of students’ conceptual comprehension across group taught with the RME-PhET model and those using PBL model. The research method used was a quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. The research sample was elementary school students in grade II at SDN 2 Nagri Kaler cluster 5 in Purwakarta Regency, with a population of grades II C and D. The research instrument used was a mathematical concept understanding ability test. Based on the research conducted, it was concluded: 1) There is an effect of using the RME model assisted by PhET Simulations on students, each increase of one unit will increase the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students through 42,1%, and 2) There is an increase in the average score of the increase in the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the experimental class with the control class. It can be concluded that this model can be used as an alternative learning model because it affects the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students, especially in grade II of elementary school.
