Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya temuan bahwa terdapat peserta didik di fase B yang masih menunjukkan capaian yang belum optimal pada mata pelajaran matematika materi perkalian. Hal ini menyebabkan rendahnya hasil belajar matematika peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas metode drill untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik, khususnya hasil belajar kognitif pada ranah memahami dan menerapkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain Pra-Eksperimen tipe One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel yang terpilih pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IV SDN Z Kabupaten Bandung Barat sebanyak 30 peserta didik yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan instrumen tes berupa pretest dan posttest berjumlah 15 soal. Analisis data pada instrumen penelitian dilakukan melalui uji statistik validitas dan reliabilitas. Data yang dihasilkan dari pretest dan posttest dianalisis melalui uji statistik normalitas, Paired Sample T-Test, dan perbedaan terhadap skor N-Gain. Berdasarkan perolehan data, instrumen tes yang digunakan valid dengan taraf reliabilitas tinggi. Hasil data pretest dan posttest berdistribusi normal, hasil uji paired sample t-test menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan pada hasil belajar, dan perbedaan skor N-Gain berada pada kategori cukup efektif. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode drill cukup efektif untuk meningkatan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik fase B. This study was motivated by findings that some students in phase B still showed suboptimal achievement in mathematics, specifically in multiplication. This resulted in low mathematics learning outcomes among students. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the drill method in improving student learning outcomes, particularly cognitive learning outcomes in the areas of understanding and application. This study uses a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design of the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample selected for this study consists of 30 fourth-grade students from SDN Z Elementary School in Bandung Barat District, selected using purposive sampling. This study utilized a test instrument consisting of a pretest and posttest with 15 questions. Data analysis on the research instrument was conducted through statistical validity and reliability tests. Data obtained from the pretest and posttest were analyzed using statistical normality tests, Paired Sample T-Tests, and differences in N-Gain scores. Based on the data obtained, the test instruments used were valid with a high level of reliability. The pretest and posttest data were normally distributed, the results of the paired sample t-test showed a significant increase in learning outcomes, and the N-Gain score difference was in the moderately effective category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the drill method is quite effective in improving the mathematics learning outcomes of phase B students.
