Abstract
Keterampilan membaca pemahaman merupakan aspek penting dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar karena menjadi dasar bagi siswa untuk memahami informasi, berpikir kritis, serta mengembangkan keterampilan literasi secara menyeluruh. Namun, kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar masih tergolong rendah. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah kurangnya variasi dalam penerapan metode dan media pembelajaran yang menarik dan efektif. Metode Reading Guide merupakan salah satu strategi yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman, khususnya jika didukung oleh media interaktif seperti Flipbook digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) Mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan metode Reading Guide berbantuan media Flipbook lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran menggunakan model KWL (Know, Want to Know, Learned), dan 2) Mengetahui pengaruh metode Reading Guide berbantuan media Flipbook terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes pretest dan posttest keterampilan membaca pemahaman. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan metode Reading Guide berbantuan media Flipbook terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa sebesar 51,3%, dengan nilai N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,63 yang termasuk kategori sedang, sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,42 yang termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) Terdapat pengaruh signifikan penerapan metode Reading Guide berbantuan media Flipbook terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar; dan 2) Peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa yang menggunakan metode Reading Guide berbantuan media Flipbook lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan model KWL (Know, Want to Know, Learned). ----- Reading comprehension is a crucial aspect of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools, as it serves as a foundation for students to understand information, think critically, and develop overall literacy skills. However, field observations indicate that elementary students' reading comprehension skills are still relatively low. One contributing factor is the lack of variety in applying engaging and effective teaching methods and media. The Reading Guide method is one strategy that can be used to enhance reading comprehension skills, especially when supported by interactive media such as digital flipbooks. This study aims to: 1) Determine the improvement of reading comprehension skills among elementary students who receive instruction using the Reading Guide method assisted by flipbook media compared to those who receive instruction using the cooperative learning model of the jigsaw type, and 2) Examine the effect of the Reading Guide method assisted by flipbook media on students’ reading comprehension skills. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The instruments used were pretest and posttest assessments of reading comprehension skills. The data analysis showed a significant effect of the Reading Guide method assisted by flipbook media on students’ reading comprehension skills, with a contribution rate of 51.3%. The N-Gain score in the experimental class was 0.63 (moderate category), while the control class scored 0.42 (low category). The conclusions drawn from this study are: 1) The implementation of the Reading Guide method assisted by flipbook media has a significant effect on elementary students’ reading comprehension skills; and 2) The improvement in reading comprehension skills of students using the Reading Guide method assisted by flipbook media is better than that of students taught using the jigsaw-type cooperative learning model.
