Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen dan melibatkan dua kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri Binaan Khusus Kota Dumai, dengan sampel terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, dengan teknik pengambilan sampelnya adalah purposive sampling. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat (1) pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan pengajuan masalah dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan kelompok kontrol; (2) perolehan habits of mind siswa kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan kelompok kontrol; (3) asosiasi antara kemampuan pengajuan masalah dan pemecahan masalah matematis. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data berupa soal tes kemampuan pengajuan masalah sebelum dan selama penyelesaian masalah, format observasi, dan angket skala habits of mind. Data berupa hasil tes yaitu hasil pretest dan posttest kemampuan pengajuan masalah sebelum dan selama penyelesaian masalah serta posttest angket skala habits of mind dianalisis secara kuantitatif, sementara itu data berupa hasil observasi dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pencapaian kemampuan pengajuan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan problem posing lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; (2) pencapaian kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan problem posing lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; (3) peningkatan kemampuan pengajuan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan problem posing lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; (4) peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan problem posing lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; (5) habits of mind siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan problem posing lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; (6) terdapat asosiasi (hubungan) yang kuat antara kemampuan pengajuan masalah matematis dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. This study is quasi experiment research and involve two groups that is experiment group and control group. Population in this study are students of class XI SMAN Binaan Khusus, Dumai City, with sample consist of two classes with purposive sampling technique. Two classes are experiment class that is class which get suku banyak learning with problem posing approach and control class that is class which get suku banyak learning with conventional learning. The focus of this study is to see (1) the achievent and enhancement of mathematical problem posing and problem solving abilities of experiment group students compared with control group; (2) the acquisition of habits of mind of experiment group students compared with control group; (3) association between mathematical posing problem and problem solving abilities. Instrument which is used to collect the data is the form of posing problem ability test item before and during solving the problem, observation format. Data is test result that is pretest and posttest of posing problem ability before and during problem solving which is analyzed quantitatively, whereas data in the form of observation result is analyzed qualitatively. The result of study show that: (1) the achievement of mathematical posing problem ability of students who get learning with problem posing approach is better compared to students who get conventional learning; (2) the achievement of mathematical problem solving ability of students who get learning with problem posing approach is better compared to students who get conventional learning; (3)the enhancement of mathematical posing problem ability of students who get learning with problem posing approach is better compared to students who get conventional learning; (4) the enhancement of mathematical problem solving ability of students who get learning with problem prosing approach is better compared to students who get conventional learning; (5) habits of mind of students who get learning with problem posing approach is better compared to students who get conventional learning; (6) there is association (relation) which is strong between mathematical problem posing ability and mathematical problem solving ability.
