Abstract
Kemampuan pemahaman konsep merupakan bekal dasar yang dimiliki oleh peserta didik dalam memproses informasi yang didapat di sekolah khususnya pada mata pelajaran IPA. Namun, kemampuan ini diketahui masih terbilang rendah pada sebagian peserta didik jenjang sekolah dasar. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, tujuan dari penelitian ini meliputi 1) mengetahui pengaruh dari penerapan model pembelajaran example non example dengan media flashcard terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep IPA peserta didik, dan 2) mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep IPA peserta didik melalui penerapan model pembelajaran example non example dengan media flashcard dan model pembelajaran think pair share. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen tipe nonequivalent control group design dengan subjek penelitian pada kelas eksperimen sebanyak 26 sampel dan pada kelas kontrol sebanyak 24 sampel. Penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil uji regresi linear sebesar 26,8% dengan hasil uji n-gain sebesar 0,4109 pada kelas eksperimen dan 0,3205 pada kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian diperoleh kesimpulan yang menyatakan 1) terdapat pengaruh sebesar 26,8% dari penerapan model pembelajaran example non example dengan media flashcard terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep IPA peserta didik, dan 2) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep IPA peserta didik yang lebih besar melalui penerapan model pembelajaran example non example dengan media flashcard (n-gain = 0,4109) dibandingkan dengan penerapan model pembelajaran think pair share (n-gain = 0,3205). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran example non example dengan media flashcard dapat diterapkan sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam membantu meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep IPA. ----- Concept understanding ability is a basic provision owned by students in processing information obtained at school, especially in science subjects. However, this ability is known to be still fairly low in some elementary school students. Based on this, the objectives of this study include 1) to determine the effect of the application of the example non example learning model with flashcard media on the ability to understand the science concepts of students, and 2) to determine the differences in the improvement of students' science concept understanding abilities through the application of the example non example learning model with flashcard media and the think pair share learning model. This research is a quasi-experimental research type nonequivalent control group design with research subjects in the experimental class as many as 26 samples and in the control class as many as 24 samples. This study showed linear regression test results of 26.8% with n-gain test results of 0.4109 in the experimental class and 0.3205 in the control class. Based on the test results, the conclusion is obtained which states 1) there is an effect of 26.8% of the application of the example non example learning model with flashcard media on the ability to understand the science concepts of students, and 2) there is a difference in increasing the ability to understand the science concepts of students who are greater through the application of the example non example learning model with flashcard media (n-gain = 0.4109) compared to the application of the think pair share learning model (n-gain = 0.3205). The results of this study indicate that the example non example learning model with flashcard media can be applied as an alternative in helping to improve the ability to understand science concepts.
