Abstract
Latar belakang penelitian disebabkan oleh rendahnya keterampilan menulis kalimat sederhana siswa akibat pemakaian model dan media pembelajaran yang kurang beraneka-ragam. Tujuan penelitian 1) mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing berbantuan media canva terhadap keterampilan menulis kalimat sederhana siswa; 2) mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD berbantuan video pembelajaran terhadap keterampilan menulis kalimat sederhana siswa; dan 3) membandingkan peningkatan keterampilan menulis kalimat sederhana siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing berbantuan media canva dengan siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD berbantuan video pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yaitu quasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Siswa kelas II B sebagai kelas eksperimen menggunakan model kooperatif tipe snowball throwing berbantuan media canva dan kelas kontrol menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD berbantuan video pembelajaran yaitu kelas II D sebagai sampel dalam penelitian masing-masing berjumlah 25 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes keterampilan menulis kalimat sederhana dan lembar observasi. Hasil yang diperoleh memperlihatkan 1) terdapat pengaruh model kooperatif tipe snowball throwing berbantuan media canva terhadap keterampilan menulis kalimat sederhana siswa sebanyak 53%; 2) terdapat pengaruh model kooperatif tipe STAD terhadap keterampilan menulis kalimat sederhana siswa sebanyak 37,3%; dan 3) peningkatan keterampilan menulis kalimat sederhana siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing berbantuan media canva lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD berbantuan video pembelajaran. Disarankan guru mempertimbangkan penerapan model ini sebagai strategi pembelajaran menulis dengan pendekatan yang lebih imajinatif dan modern. ----- The background of the study was caused by the low skills of writing simple sentences of students due to the use of less diverse learning models and media. The objectives of the study were 1) to determine the effect of the snowball throwing type cooperative learning model assisted by Canva media on students' simple sentence writing skills; 2) to determine the effect of the STAD type cooperative learning model assisted by learning videos on students' simple sentence writing skills; and 3) to compare the improvement in simple sentence writing skills of students who received the snowball throwing type cooperative learning model assisted by Canva media with students who received the STAD type cooperative learning model assisted by learning videos. The research method was a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design. Students of class II B as the experimental class used the snowball throwing type cooperative model assisted by Canva media and the control class used the STAD type cooperative model assisted by learning videos, namely class II D as the sample in the study, each consisting of 25 students. The instruments used were simple sentence writing skills tests and observation sheets. The results obtained showed 1) there was an effect of the snowball throwing type cooperative model assisted by Canva media on students' simple sentence writing skills by 53%; 2) there is an influence of the STAD type cooperative model on students' simple sentence writing skills by 37.3%; and 3) the increase in students' simple sentence writing skills using the snowball throwing type cooperative learning model assisted by Canva media is better than students who receive the STAD type cooperative learning model assisted by learning videos. It is recommended that teachers consider implementing this model as a writing learning strategy with a more imaginative and modern approach.
