Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi metode Abacaga dalam mengembangkan kemampuan pra-membaca anak di Raudhatul Athfal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi yang dilakukan terhadap guru dan anak-anak di RA Al-Muhajirin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode Abacaga efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pra-membaca anak, dengan pendekatan bertahap dan sistematis dalam pengenalan huruf, suku kata, dan kata. Keunggulan metode ini terletak pada variasi media pembelajaran seperti kartu dan buku Abacaga, yang membantu anak memahami konsep huruf dengan lebih interaktif dan menyenangkan. Selain itu, metode ini memberikan fleksibilitas bagi guru dan orang tua untuk menerapkannya di lingkungan sekolah maupun rumah. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan metode Abacaga sebagai pendekatan inovatif dalam pengajaran pra-membaca pada anak usia dini. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Abacaga method in developing pre-reading skills among children at Raudhatul Athfal. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers and children at RA Al-Muhajirin. The results revealed that the Abacaga method is effective in enhancing children's pre-reading abilities through a gradual and systematic approach to introducing letters, syllables, and words. The strengths of this method lie in its use of diverse learning media, such as Abacaga cards and books, which help children grasp letter concepts interactively and enjoyably. Moreover, the method offers flexibility for teachers and parents to apply it both in school and at home. This study recommends adopting the Abacaga method as an innovative approach to pre-reading instruction for early childhood education.
