    Abstract

    Pendahuluan: Diabetes melitus tipe 2 (DM) merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang serius, yang sering didahului oleh kondisi pradiabetes. Kondisi ini dapat dikelola melalui perubahan gaya hidup dan edukasi yang efektif. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh media edukasi gizi “Curious Guide” booklet terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan, perubahan sikap, dan perilaku pasien prediabetes melitus tipe 2. Metode: Penelitian Quasi-eksperimental ini menggunakan desain pretest-posttest satu kelompok dengan melibatkan 36 pasien prediabetes di Puskesmas Babakan Sari. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji paired T Test atau uji non-parametrik, dengan skor N-Gain digunakan untuk menilai peningkatan. Hasil: Penelitian ini menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan pada aspek pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku peserta setelah pemberian edukasi booklet (p<0.05). Skor N-Gain menunjukkan peningkatan sedang pada pengetahuan dan perilaku, sedangkan peningkatan sikap tergolong rendah. Simpulan: “Curious Guide” booklet efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku pasien prediabetes. Ketiga aspek ini saling mendukung, menjadikan edukasi ini efektif dalam upaya pencegahan diabetes melitus tipe 2. Introduction: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a significant public health concern, often preceded by a condition known as prediabetes. This condition can be managed through lifestyle modifications and effective education. Objective: This study aims to analyze the impact of the nutritional education media, the “Curious Guide” booklet, on improving knowledge, changing attitudes, and modifying behaviors among patients with prediabetes. Methods: This quasi-experimental study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 36 prediabetic patients at Babakan Sari Public Health Center. Data were analyzed using paired t tests or non-parametric tests, with N-Gain scores utilized to assess improvement. Results: The study demonstrated a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors following the educational intervention using the booklet (p<0.05). N-Gain scores indicated a moderate increase in knowledge and behavior, while the improvement in attitudes was classified as low. Conclusion: The “Curious Guide” booklet has proven effective in improving the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of prediabetic patients. These three aspects are interrelated and mutually reinforcing, making this educational intervention effective in the prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
