Abstract
Pendidikan merupakan aspek penting dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Melalui pendidikan, individu dapat meningkatkan pemahaman, termasuk dalam membaca. Rendahnya minat baca peserta didik menyebabkan kesulitan memahami bacaan, yang menjadi latar belakang penelitian ini. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui pemahaman membaca peserta didik kelas IV di SDN Kiangroke 01 sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) berbantuan media Let’s Read. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pre-eksperimental, desain one group pretest posttest. Uji coba dilakukan di kelas V, sedangkan eksperimen dilakukan di kelas IV dengan sampel 30 peserta didik. Hasil menunjukkan rata-rata nilai pretest sebesar 54,50 dan posttest sebesar 85,83, terjadi peningkatan sebesar 31,33 poin. Berdasarkan uji-t, diperoleh nilai signifikansi <0,001 pada taraf signifikansi 0,05, yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari penerapan model pembelajaran tersebut. Kontribusi model pembelajaran CIRC berbantuan media Let’s Read terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman sebesar 69%, sedangkan 31% dipengaruhi faktor lain. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model CIRC berbantuan media efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik, sebagaimana dijelaskan dalam rumusan masalah dan hasil penelitian. ----- Education is a vital aspect of life in society. Through education, individuals can improve their understanding, including reading comprehension. Low interest in reading among students leads to difficulties in understanding texts, which forms the basis of this research. The purpose of this study is to determine the reading comprehension abilities of fourth-grade students at SDN Kiangroke 01 before and after the implementation of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model assisted by Let’s Read media. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest posttest design. The trial was conducted in Grade V, while the experiment was carried out in Grade IV with 30 students as the sample. The results showed that the average pretest score was 54.50, and the posttest score was 85.83, indicating an increase of 31.33 points. The t-test revealed a significance value of <0.001 at a 0.05 significance level, indicating a significant effect of the learning model on reading comprehension improvement. The contribution of the CIRC model assisted by Let’s Read media to the improvement in reading comprehension was 69%, while the remaining 31% was influenced by other factors. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the CIRC model supported by media is effective in enhancing students’ reading comprehension skills, as outlined in the problem formulation and research findings.
