Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca siswa di Indonesia dan terbukti dari hasil PISA 2022. Maka, untuk mengatasi rendahnya literasi membaca siswa diperlukan model pembelajaran yang tepat dengan sintaks yang mudah untuk diingat, salah satunya dengan model pembelajaran RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain-Create). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penerapan model pembelajaran RADEC terhadap kemampuan membaca siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimen dengan satu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran RADEC dan satu kelas kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran Cooperative Script. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 70 siswa dari populasi siswa kelas V di Kabupaten Purwakarta. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara model pembelajaran RADEC dengan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas eksperimen. ----- This research is motivated by the low reading ability of students in Indonesia and is evident from the results of PISA 2022. Therefore, to overcome the low reading literacy of students, the right learning model with a syntax that is easy to remember is needed, one of which is the RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain-Create) learning model. This study aims to determine the influence of the application of the RADEC learning model on students' reading ability. This study used a quasi-experimental design with one experimental class using the RADEC learning model and one control class using the Cooperative Script learning model. The research sample was 70 students from the 5th grade student population in Purwakarta Regency. The instrument used was a reading comprehension ability test. The results of the study showed that there was a positive and significant influence between the RADEC learning model and the reading comprehension ability of students in the experimental class.
