Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman yang disebabkan karena siswa merasa kesulitan saat memahami isi bacaan. Sementara itu, kemampuan membaca perlu disertai dengan pemahaman agar memudahkan pembaca memperoleh informasi dari bacaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan peningkatan dengan perlakuan yang berbeda pada dua kelompok. Kelompok eksperimen menggunakan metode Shared Reading berbantuan media Let’s Read. Sedangkan, kelompok kelas kontrol menggunakan metode diskusi berbantuan powerpoint dan video animasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group. Sampel yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas IVC sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas IVB sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN Ciwangi Purwakarta dengan jumlah masing-masing 26 siswa. Data yang diolah yaitu data tes dan non-tes. Data tes berupa pre-test dan post-test. Sedangkan, data non-tes berupa wawancara, jurnal harian dan dokumentasi. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya pengaruh sebesar 53,7% terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa dalam menggunakan metode Shared Reading berbantuan media Let’s Read. Selain itu, terdapat peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman yang menggunakan metode Shared Reading berbantuan Media Let’s Read lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan metode konvensional. ----- This study was motivated by the low level of reading comprehension skills among students, which is caused by their difficulty in understanding the content of reading materials. Meanwhile, reading skills need to be accompanied by comprehension to help readers obtain information from the text. The aim of this study is to examine the effect and improvement resulting from different treatments given to two groups. The experimental group used the Shared Reading method assisted by Let’s Read media, while the control group used a discussion method assisted by PowerPoint and animated videos.The method used in this research is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of fourth-grade students from class IVC as the experimental group and class IVB as the control group. This study was conducted at SDN Ciwangi Purwakarta, with each class consisting of 26 students. The data collected included both test and non-test data. The test data consisted of pre-tests and post-tests, while the non-test data included interviews, daily journals, and documentation. The results of this study showed that the Shared Reading method assisted by Let’s Read media had an influence of 53.7% on the improvement of students’ reading comprehension skills. Furthermore, students who were taught using the Shared Reading method with the support of Let’s Read media demonstrated greater improvement in reading comprehension compared to those taught using conventional methods.
