Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pengucapan huruf konsonan dental (d, n, s) melalui penggunaan metode multisensori pada siswa dengan hambatan pendengaran kelas V SLBN Cicendo Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena terdapat siswa kelas 5 di SLBN Cicendo yang mengalami kesulitan dalam mengucapkan kata yang mengandung huruf konsonan dental (d, n, s). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan subjek tunggal atau Single Subject Research (SSR). Adapun desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah desain A1-B-A2. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah seorang siswa dengan hambatan pendengaran kelas V di SLBN Cicendo Kota Bandung. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes lisan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis visual yang disajikan dalam bentuk grafik. Analisis visual ini mencakup analisis dalam kondisi dan analisis antar kondisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode multisesori dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa tunarungu dalam mengucapkan huruf konsonan dental (d, n, s). Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam mengucapkan kata yang m engandung konsonan dental (d, n, s) menjadi lebih jelas, baik pada awal kata, tengah kata maupun akhir kata. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka dapat disimpukan bahwa penggunaan metode multisensori terbukti dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pengucapan konsonan dental (d, n, s) pada siswa tunarungu kelas 5 di SLBN Cicendo Kota Bandung. Kemampuan artikulasi anak tunarungu akan berkembang lebih optimal melalui upaya guru dan orang tua dalam melatih anak dalam melafalkan fonem-fonem tertentu melalui berbagai metode yang diantaranya adalah dengan menggunakan metode multisensori. This study aims to determine the improvement in the ability to pronounce dental consonants (d, n, s) through the use of multisensory methods in a student with hearing impairment in class V SLBN Cicendo, Bandung City. This research was conducted because there were 5th grade student at SLBN Cicendo who had difficulty words pronouncing containing dental consonants (d, n, s). This research uses a quantitative approach and the method used is an experimental method with a single subject or Single Subject Research (SSR). The design used in this research is the A1-B-A2 design. The subject in this research was a student with hearing impairment in class V at SLBN Cicendo, Bandung City. Data collection was carried out through oral tests. The data obtained was analyzed using visual analysis presented in graphical form. This visual analysis includes within-condition analysis and between-condition analysis. The results of the research show that the use of the multisensory method can improve the ability of deaf students to pronounce dental consonants (d, n, s). This is indicated by an increase in student’s ability to pronounce words containing dental consonants (d, n, s) more clearly, whether at the beginning, middle or end of the word. Based on this, it can be concluded that the use of multisensory method has an effect on improving the pronunciation of dental consonants (d, n, s) in a student with hearing impairment at class 5 at SLBN Cicendo, Bandung City. The articulation abilities of deaf children will develope more optimally through various methods, one of which is using the multisensory method.
