Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pendekatan Mathematics in Context (MiC) terhadap kemampuan mathematical problem solving dan mathematical creative reasoning peserta didik dengan mempertimbangkan psychological well-being sebagai faktor penunjang. Pendekatan MiC yang mengintegrasikan konteks kehidupan nyata ke dalam pembelajaran matematika dirancang untuk membantu peserta didik memahami konsep abstrak melalui situasi yang relevan dan bermakna. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian mix method dengan desain sequential explanatory. Desain ini dimulai dengan pengumpulan data kuantitatif, dengan tujuan memberikan deskripsi awal mengenai fenomena yang sedang diteliti. Data kuantitatif menggunakan Pre-experimental design dengan tipe One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, yang sering dikenal sebagai Pretest-Posttest Design. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan mathematical problem solving dan mathematical creative reasoning serta angket psychological well-being. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik untuk menentukan perbedaan signifikan dalam kemampuan mathematical problem solving dan mathematical creative reasoning siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan MiC secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan problem solving peserta didik, dan hubungan antara Kemampuan mathematical Problem Solving dan Kemampuan mathematical Creative Reasoning yang signifikan (r = 0.470, p = 0.010). Hubungan ini menunjukkan bahwa kedua variabel ini memiliki hubungan positif yang nyata. Psychological well-being memainkan peran penting dalam mendukung efektivitas pendekatan MiC, dengan siswa yang memiliki tingkat well-being lebih tinggi cenderung menunjukkan kinerja yang lebih baik dalam kedua kemampuan tersebut. This study aims to examine the effect of Mathematics in Context (MiC) approach on students' mathematical problem solving and mathematical creative reasoning skills by considering psychological well-being as a supporting factor. The MiC approach that integrates real-life contexts into mathematics learning is designed to help learners understand abstract concepts through relevant and meaningful situations. This study used a mixed method research method with a sequential explanatory design. This design begins with quantitative data collection, with the aim of providing an initial description of the phenomenon being studied. Quantitative data uses Pre-experimental design with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design type, which is often known as Pretest-Posttest Design. The instruments used are mathematical problem solving and mathematical creative reasoning ability tests and psychological well-being questionnaires. Data were analyzed using statistical tests to determine significant differences in students' mathematical problem solving and mathematical creative reasoning skills. The results showed that the MiC approach significantly improved students' problem solving ability, and the relationship between mathematical problem solving ability and mathematical creative reasoning ability was significant (r = 0.470, p = 0.010). This relationship shows that these two variables have a real positive relationship. Psychological well-being plays an important role in supporting the effectiveness of the MiC approach, with students who have higher levels of well-being tending to show better performance in both abilities.
