Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh ketidak mampuan berbahasa ekpresif verbal pada anak autism spectrum disorders yang berdampak pada kesulitan bekomunikasi dan kurangnya kompetensi orang tua dalam menangani anak autism spectrum disorder, maka diperlukan sebuah program dalam membantu orang tua melakukan intervensi untuk meningkatkan bahasa ekspresif verbal pada anak autism spectrum disorders. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari satu keluarga yang memiliki anak autism spectrum disorders. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode yaitu mix metode dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif eksperimen dengan Single Subject Research (SSR) desain A-B-A.. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah program yang layak untuk diterapkan pada orang tua berdasarkan hasil validasi, program ini berisi tentang dasar pemikiran, kebutuhan program, tujuan, pelaksanan kegiatan, metode, materi, evaluasi dan tindak lanjut terkait peningkatan keterampilan berbahasa ekspresif verbal. Data analisis kualitatif diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi untuk menggali kondisi objektif kemampuan bahasa ekspresif anak dan kondisi objektif pengetahuan orang tua dalam menangani anak autism data analisis kuantitatif mengukur keterlaksaan program intervensi bahasa ekpresif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan peningkatan pengetahuan orang tua dalam menangani anak autism spectrum disorder sehingga dapat melaksanakan program intervensi bahasa ekspresif verbal secara mandiri dan terdapat peningkatan pada aspek mengucapkan kata buka, makan, minum, pipis dan mau cukup signifikan. Program intervensi ini direkomendasikan untuk orang tua dengan anak dengan hambatan autism spectrum disorder yang mengalami keterlambatan bahasa ekspresif verbal. This study was motivated by the inability of verbal expressive language in children with autism spectrum disorders which has an impact on communication difficulties and lack of parental competence in dealing with children with autism spectrum disorders, so a program is needed to help parents intervene to improve verbal expressive language in children with autism spectrum disorders. The subjects of this study consisted of one family who had a child with autism spectrum disorders. This study used a method, namely a mix method with a qualitative and quantitative experimental approach with a Single Subject Research (SSR) A-B-A design. This study produced a program that is feasible to be applied to parents based on the results of validation, this program contains the rationale, program needs, objectives, implementation of activities, methods, materials, evaluations and follow-ups related to improving verbal expressive language skills. Qualitative analysis data were obtained from interviews, observations and documentation to explore the objective conditions of children's expressive language abilities and the objective conditions of parents' knowledge in dealing with children with autism. Quantitative analysis data measured the implementation of the expressive language intervention program. The results of the study showed an increase in parental knowledge in handling children with autism spectrum disorder so that they can carry out verbal expressive language intervention programs independently and there was a significant increase in the aspects of saying the words open, eat, drink, pee and want. This intervention program is recommended for parents with children with autism spectrum disorder who experience verbal expressive language delays.
