Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang ada di lapangan tentang pembelajaran yang dilakukan berdasarkan jenjang, sehingga peserta didik tidak mendapatkan perhatian pengajaran yang sama. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan beberapa peserta didik belum menguasai keterampilan tata boga dalam menyiapkan, mengolah, dan menyajikan makanan utamanya pada peserta didik kelas rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran explicit instruction terhadap keterampilan vokasional tata boga peserta didik tunarungu di SLBN Cicendo Kota Bandung. Model pembelajaran explicit instruction lebih memfokuskan pada pemberian materi pembelajaran secara berurutan langkah demi langkah, sehingga model ini cocok untuk pembelajaran praktik atau vokasional. Metode yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental design dengan jenis one group pretest-posttest design. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 6 orang peserta didik kelas VIII di SLBN Cicendo Kota Bandung yang memiliki kemampuan tata boga di bawah rata-rata. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kinerja keterampilan vokasional tata boga membuat sup dengan pre-test dan post-test. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data yang telah dilakukan menggunakan uji wilcoxon, dapat diketahui bahwa hasil uji bernilai 0,026. Karena 0,026 lebih kecil dari nilai α = 0,05, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa H1 dapat diterima kebenarannya, dimana terdapat pengaruh yang positif pada penerapan model pembelajaran explicit instruction dalam meningkatkan keterampilan vokasional tata boga peserta didik tunarungu kelas VIII di SLBN Cicendo Kota Bandung dalam indikator a) menyiapkan, b) mengolah, dan c) menyajikan makanan. This research is motivated by problems that exist in the field about learning that is carried out based on levels, so that students do not get the same teaching attention. This resulted in some students not mastering culinary skills in preparing, processing, and serving food, especially in low-grade students. This study aims to determine how much influence the application of the explicit instruction learning model has on the culinary vocational skills of deaf students at SLBN Cicendo Bandung City. The explicit instruction learning model focuses more on providing learning material sequentially step by step, so this model is suitable for practical or vocational learning. The method used is pre-experimental design with the type of one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects amounted to 6 students in class VIII at SLBN Cicendo Bandung City who had culinary skills below average. The data collection technique used a performance test of culinary vocational skills to make soup with pre-test and post-test. The data obtained was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Based on the results of data processing that has been carried out using the Wilcoxon test, it can be seen that the test result is 0.026. Because 0.026 is smaller than the value of α = 0.05, it can be concluded that H1 can be accepted, where there is a positive influence on the application of the explicit instruction learning model in improving the vocational skills of class VIII deaf students at SLBN Cicendo Bandung City in indicators of a) preparing, b) processing, and c) serving food.
