Abstract

Kurangnya variasi dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran menyebabkan anak cepat merasa jenuh dan kurang tertarik dalam belajar matematika, yang berdampak pada rendahnya kemampuan analisis data dan probabilitas anak. Padahal, kemampuan ini sangat penting sebagai dasar dalam membangun pemahaman matematis anak sejak dini. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan media pembelajaran interaktif yang mampu mengkonkretkan konsep abstrak agar lebih mudah dipahami oleh anak usia dini. Salah satu media yang dapat digunakan adalah papan flanel, yang menawarkan pengalaman belajar yang menarik dan menyenangkan. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penggunaan media papan flanel dalam meningkatkan kemampuan analisis data dan probabilitas anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test yang dilakukan pada 13 anak usia 5-6 tahun di salah satu taman kanak-kanak di Kecamatan Sukasari, Kota Bandung. Instrumen penelitian berupa pedoman tes yang terdiri dari 18 item pernyataan dengan skala rating. Instrumen ini telah divalidasi oleh ahli dan diuji menggunakan teknik analisis validitas serta reliabilitas, yang menunjukkan hasil valid dan reliabel. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik Paired Sample T-Test dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS versi 25, serta uji normalitas dan uji effect size (Cohen’s d) untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas media papan flanel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media papan flanel secara efektif mampu meningkatkan kemampuan analisis data dan probabilitas anak usia 5-6 tahun. Hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan rata-rata skor sebesar 21,4 poin atau sekitar 59%. Uji hipotesis membuktikan bahwa penggunaan media papan flanel berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan analisis data dan probabilitas anak, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05). Selain itu, hasil uji efektivitas Cohen’s d sebesar 7,227 menunjukkan tingkat efektivitas yang sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan media papan flanel sebagai alternatif metode pembelajaran yang menarik dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan analisis data dan probabilitas anak usia dini. The lack of variety in the use of learning media causes children to quickly feel bored and less interested in learning mathematics, which has an impact on children's low data analysis and probability skills. In fact, this ability is very important as a basis for building children's mathematical understanding from an early age. Therefore, interactive learning media that is able to concretize abstract concepts so that they are easier for early children to understand. One medium that can be used is flannel boards, which offer an exciting and enjoyable learning experience. Based on these problems, this study aims to test the effectiveness of the use of flannel board media in improving children's data analysis and probability skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design conducted on 13 children aged 5-6 years in one of the kindergartens in Sukasari District, Bandung City. The research instrument is in the form of a test guideline consisting of 18 questions with a rating scale. The instrument has been validated by experts and tested using validity and reliability analysis techniques, which show valid and reliable results. The data was analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test statistical test with the help of SPSS 25 for Windows, as well as the normality test and effect size test (Cohen's d) to determine the level of effectiveness of the plywood media. The results showed that the flannel board media was able to effectively improve the data analysis ability and probability of children aged 5-6 years. This can be seen from the increase in the average score of 21.4 points or around 59%. The hypothesis test proved that the use of flannel board media had a significant effect on improving children's data analysis ability and probability, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). In addition, the results of Cohen's d effectiveness test of 7,227 showed a very high level of effectiveness. Based on these findings, this study recommends the use of flannel board media as an alternative learning method that is interesting and effective in improving data analysis skills and early childhood probability.
