Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan pada rendahnya minat dan motivasi siswa dalam menulis, serta kesulitan memulai tulisan. Kondisi ini disebabkan oleh metode dan media pembelajaran yang kurang menarik, sehingga siswa kesulitan mengembangkan keterampilan menulis. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berfokus pada penerapan model Think Pair Share dengan menggunakan media Instagram personal sebagai solusi dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksplanasi siswa. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana kemampuan awal dan akhir siswa kelas IX dalam menulis teks eksplanasi di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, serta apakah terdapat perbedaan signifikan kemampuan menulis antara kedua kelas setelah penerapan model Think Pair Share berbantuan media Instagram personal di kelas eksperimen. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan awal dan akhir siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksplanasi di kedua kelas, serta untuk mengetahui perbedaan signifikan dalam kemampuan menulis siswa setelah penerapan model Think Pair Share. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen kuasi dengan populasi siswa kelas IX SMP Darul Hikmah. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari kelas IX C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas IX A sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes awal, tes akhir, observasi, dan angket siswa. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan aplikasi SPSS versi 25. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh nilai signifikansi <0,05 yang menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa di kelas eksperimen dan di kelas kontrol. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Think Pair Share berbantuan media Instagram personal terbukti efektif dan layak diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksplanasi. This study was motivated by the problem of low interest and motivation among students in writing, as well as difficulties in starting their writing. This condition is caused by unengaging teaching methods and media, making it challenging for students to develop writing skills. Therefore, this study focuses on the application of the Think Pair Share model using personal Instagram as a solution for teaching students to write explanation texts. The research problem is how the initial and final abilities of ninth-grade students in writing explanation texts compare in the experimental and control classes, and whether there is a significant difference in writing ability between the two classes after implementing the Think Pair Share model assisted by personal Instagram in the experimental class. The objective of this study is to describe the initial and final abilities of students in learning to write explanation texts in both classes and to determine the significant differences in students' writing abilities after the application of the Think Pair Share model. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a population of ninth-grade students at SMP Darul Hikmah. The research sample consisted of Class IX C as the experimental class and Class IX A as the control class. Data collection techniques included pre-tests, post-tests, observations, and student questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS version 25. Based on the data analysis results, a significance value of <0.05 was obtained, indicating a significant difference in the ability to write explanation texts between students in the experimental and control classes. It can be concluded that the implementation of the Think Pair Share model assisted by personal Instagram media has proven to be effective and suitable for application in teaching explanation text writing.
