Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pembelajaran sejarah yang sebagian besar aktivitasnya masih menggunakan buku teks, yang cenderung kurang menarik dan kurang efektif dalam menanamkan pemahaman komprehensif serta nilai-nilai sejarah. Adapun tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan alasan pemilihan benteng dan museum sebagai sumber belajar sejarah, implementasi penggunaannya dalam pembelajaran sejarah, dampak terhadap siswa, serta persepsi siswa dan guru terhadap pengalaman belajar sejarah melalui kunjungan langsung. Penelitian ini mengkaji pemanfaatan Benteng Otanaha dan Museum Popa-Eyato sebagai sumber belajar sejarah di SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo, dengan subjek penelitian meliputi siswa kelas XI-1, XI-2, XI-3, XI-4, guru, Wakil Kepala Sekolah Bidang Kesiswaan, serta pengelola Benteng Otanaha dan Museum Popa-Eyato. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Naturalistik Inkuiri, penelitian ini mengumpulkan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk menggambarkan secara menyeluruh proses pemanfaatan sumber belajar sejarah selain buku. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Benteng Otanaha, sebagai saksi bisu sejarah lokal, dan Museum Popa-Eyato, yang menyimpan koleksi artefak budaya dan sejarah Gorontalo, mampu memberikan pengalaman belajar kontekstual dan bermakna bagi siswa. Implementasi pembelajaran yang melibatkan kunjungan langsung ke benteng dan museum ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap sejarah lokal tetapi juga menumbuhkan rasa cinta terhadap budaya daerah dan kesadaran akan pentingnya pelestarian warisan sejarah. Persepsi positif dari siswa dan guru menegaskan bahwa pemanfaatan benteng dan museum sebagai sumber belajar menciptakan pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif, relevan, dan efektif dalam mencapai tujuan pendidikan sejarah. Kata kunci: Benteng Otanaha, Museum Popa-Eyato, dan Sumber Belajar Sejarah ABSTRACT This research is based on history learning, most of which activities still use textbooks, which tend to be less interesting and less effective in instilling a comprehensive understanding and historical values. The purpose of the research is to describe the reasons for choosing forts and museums as sources of learning history, the implementation of their use in learning history, the impact on students, as well as the perceptions of students and teachers on the experience of learning history through direct visits. This research examines the utilization of Otanaha Fort and Popa-Eyato Museum as history learning resources at SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo, with the research subjects including students of class XI-1, XI-2, XI-3, XI-4, teachers, Vice Principal of Student Affairs, and managers of Otanaha Fort and Popa-Eyato Museum. Using a qualitative approach with the Naturalistic Inquiry method, this study collected data through observation, interviews, and documentation to thoroughly describe the process of utilizing history learning resources other than books. The results of this study show that Otanaha Fort, as a silent witness of local history, and Popa-Eyato Museum, which stores a collection of Gorontalo cultural and historical artifacts, are able to provide contextual and meaningful learning experiences for students. The implementation of learning that involves direct visits to the fort and museum not only improves students' understanding of local history but also fosters a sense of love for regional culture and awareness of the importance of preserving historical heritage. Positive perceptions from students and teachers confirm that the utilization of forts and museums as learning resources creates more interactive, relevant and effective learning in achieving the objectives of history education.
