Abstract

Integrasi isu keberlanjutan dalam bahan ajar adalah langkah penting untuk mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi tantangan global yang semakin kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan bahan ajar IPA bertema pantai bermuatan ESD, menggunakan metode 4STMD untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Development Research yang melibatkan tiga tahapan utama: Design, Development, dan Evaluation. Pada tahap Design, penelitian menghasilkan rancangan awal bahan ajar yang akan dikembangkan menjadi buku cetak. Tahap Development melibatkan metode 4STMD yang terdiri dari seleksi, strukturisasi, karakterisasi, dan reduksi didaktik. Pada tahap seleksi, diidentifikasi 58 indikator pembelajaran dan 31 label konsep dari lima indikator, dengan uraian konsep materi dari 10 buku internasional dan 7 buku nasional. Konteks substansi dan pedagogi yang dikembangkan berfokus pada tema pantai dan nilai ESD. Tahap strukturisasi menghasilkan peta konsep, struktur makro, dan tiga level representasi yang relevan. Pada tahap karakterisasi, enam teks kategori sulit dihasilkan setelah diujikan pada siswa SMP Negeri di Padang. Reduksi didaktik dilakukan pada teks-teks sulit ini dengan menyederhanakan kalimat, menggunakan istilah yang dikenal, serta menambahkan penjelasan melalui gambar dan video. Tahap Evaluation menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan memiliki tingkat kelayakan 100% dari segi isi, penyajian, kebahasaan, kegrafikan, serta keterpahaman yang tinggi, dengan rata-rata 85,70%. Bahan ajar ini juga berpotensi untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif, seperti fluency, flexibility, dan originality. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar IPA dengan tema pantai bermuatan ESD layak digunakan dan berpotensi mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa. The integration of sustainability issues in teaching materials is an important step to prepare students to face increasingly complex global challenges. This research aims to produce ESD-themed beach science teaching materials, using the 4STMD method to improve creative thinking skills. This research uses a Development Research design that involves three main stages: Design, Development, and Evaluation. At the Design stage, the research produced an initial design of teaching materials that would be developed into printed books. The Development stage involved the 4STMD method consisting of selection, structuring, characterization, and didactic reduction. At the selection stage, 58 learning indicators and 31 concept labels from five indicators were identified, with material concept descriptions from 10 international books and 7 national books. The substance and pedagogical context developed focused on the theme of the beach and ESD values. The structuralization stage produced concept maps, macro structures, and three relevant levels of representation. At the characterization stage, six difficult category texts were generated after being tested on public junior high school students in Padang. Didactic reduction was carried out on these difficult texts by simplifying sentences, using familiar terms, and adding explanations through pictures and videos. The Evaluation stage shows that the developed teaching materials have a 100% feasibility level in terms of content, presentation, language, graphics, and high understandability, with an average of 85.70%. These teaching materials also have the potential to develop creative thinking skills, such as fluency, flexibility, and originality. This study concludes that science teaching materials with the theme of ESD-charged beaches are feasible to use and have the potential to develop students' creative thinking skills.
