Abstract
--------- This research was motivated by problems discovered during observations, including the lack of optimal implementation of the school literacy movement program. This research aims to determine the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) program: This research design uses a case study. The research subjects used were grade 5 students at SDN Sukamanah. The data collection techniques used were interviews, questionnaires, observation and documentation. The research results show: (1) The implementation of the School Literacy Movement at SDN Sukamanah was carried out based on three stages. First, at the habituation stage, carry out 15 minutes of reading activities, provide a reading corner in each class, provide a wall magazine, and provide a library. Second, the development stage is carrying out integrated reading and reading together. Third, at the learning stage, write a reading diary. (2) Supporting factors at SDN Sukamanah include adequate infrastructure, literacy program allocation funds, cooperation between parties, both with organizations and student parents, and the use of media to develop literacy. Apart from that, there are also inhibiting factors, including differences in human resource capabilities and initiatives, the condition of students who get bored easily, and teachers' difficulties in implementing the GLS program. The School Literacy Movement (GLS) also has a positive impact on social literacy, including students becoming more aware of getting used to reading, having social ethics, for example not chatting with friends when the teacher is explaining material, having problem solving skills, and being able to communicate effectively, meaning The School Literacy Movement (GLS) program can increase social literacy in students.
