Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih banyaknya siswa yang minim akan karakter adventurous spirit (semangat petualang) dan persistence (kegigihan) selama pembelajaran berlangsung khususnya pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasil dari implementasi pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PJBL) pada materi stuktur dan fungsi tumbuhan dalam meningkatkan karakter adventurous spirit dan persistence. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi dengan teknik analisis data Creswell meliputi frekuensi dan persentase, mean, dan visualisasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan implementasi pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PJBL) dalam meningkatkan karakter adventurous spirit dan persistence melalui beberapa tahap, yaitu kegiatan perlakuan, pelaksanaan proyek, presentasi hasil proyek, serta hasil akhir yang dilihat ketika sudah melaksanakan kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PJBL). Berdasarkan dari kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PJBL) yang dilakukan, mampu meningkatkan karakter adventurous spirit dan persistence berdasarkan dimensi-dimensi yang dinilai pada masing-masing karakter, yaitu dimensi kemampuan mengambil risiko dan antisipatif pada karakter adventurous spirit dan dimensi hasrat (passion), latihan (practice), tujuan (purpose), dan harapan (hope) pada karakter persistence. Sejalan hal tersebut juga diperkuat dengan respon guru dan siswa yang setuju dengan perolehan 88%, 11% ragu-ragu, dan 1% tidak setuju. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PJBL) mampu meningkatkan karakter adventurous spirit dan persistence. ---------- This research was motivated by the fact that many students lack adventurous spirit and persistence during the learning process, particularly in Science subjects. The purpose of this study was to examine the outcomes of implementing project-based learning (PJBL) on the topic of plant structure and function in enhancing students' adventurous spirit and persistence. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis technique followed Creswell's framework, which involves frequency and percentage, mean, and data visualization. The results of the study show that the implementation of project-based learning (PJBL) in improving the character of adventurous spirit and persistence through several stages, namely treatment activities, project implementation, presentation of project results, and final results seen when carrying out project-based learning activities (PJBL). Based on the project-based learning activities (PJBL) carried out, it is able to improve the character of adventurous spirit and persistence based on the dimensions assessed on each character, namely the dimensions of risktaking and anticipatory ability in the adventurous spirit character and the dimensions of passion, practice, purpose, and hope in the persistence character. In line with this, it was also strengthened by the responses of teachers and students who agreed with the results of 88%, 11% hesitated, and 1% disagreed. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of project-based learning (PJBL) is able to increase the character of adventurous spirit and persistence.
