Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis teks puisi anak usia dini dari perspektif bahasa
dan kognitif, serta mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur puisi yang relevan untuk mendukung
perkembangan anak usia 5–6 tahun. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya
perhatian terhadap kesesuaian teks puisi dengan perkembangan bahasa dan kognitif anak,
meskipun puisi sering digunakan dalam lomba baca puisi untuk anak usia dini. Sebagian
besar teks yang ditemukan masih menggunakan kosakata abstrak dan struktur kalimat yang
terlalu kompleks bagi anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan
metode studi literatur dan teknik analisis isi. Data berupa 10 teks puisi anak diambil dari
dokumentasi lomba di platform YouTube, dan dianalisis berdasarkan teori sastra anak dari
Nurgiyantoro, teori perkembangan bahasa menurut Hurlock, serta teori kognitif dari
Vygotsky. Validasi instrumen dilakukan oleh dua ahli sebelum analisis mendalam
dilakukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar teks puisi anak belum
sepenuhnya sesuai dengan kebutuhan perkembangan bahasa dan kognitif anak usia dini.
Beberapa puisi berhasil menggunakan kosakata sederhana, rima menarik, dan tema relevan
seperti orang tua dan alam. Namun, banyak puisi mengandung bahasa figuratif yang
abstrak, minim pola sebab-akibat, dan topik yang kurang relevan, seperti konsep religius
yang terlalu kompleks. Penelitian ini menghasilkan rekomendasi untuk guru dan pendidik
dalam memilih puisi anak yang relevan secara bahasa dan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun,
seperti memastikan pendayaan bunyi, kosakata sederhana dan familiar, unsur imajinasi
yang selaras dengan pengalaman anak, pendayaan citraan visual dan auditif yang jelas,
larik yang pendek, bahasa figuratif atau majas sederhana, ketersediaan muatan edukatif,
hingga tema harus selaras dengan dunia mereka
This study aims to analyze early childhood poetry texts from a language and cognitive
perspective, and to identify relevant poetry elements to support the development of children
aged 5–6 years. This study was motivated by the lack of attention to the suitability of poetry
texts with children's language and cognitive development, although poetry is often used in
poetry reading competitions for early childhood. Most of the texts found still use abstract
vocabulary and sentence structures that are too complex for children. This study uses a
qualitative approach with a literature study method and content analysis techniques. Data
in the form of 10 children's poetry texts were taken from the competition documentation on
the YouTube platform, and analyzed based on Nurgiyantoro's children's literature theory,
Hurlock's language development theory, and Vygotsky's cognitive theory. Instrument
validation was carried out by two experts before in-depth analysis was carried out. The
results of the study showed that most children's poetry texts were not fully in accordance
with the needs of early childhood language and cognitive development. Some poems
managed to use simple vocabulary, interesting rhymes, and relevant themes such as
parents and nature. However, many poems contain abstract figurative language, minimal
cause-and-effect patterns, and less relevant topics, such as overly complex religious
concepts. This study produces recommendations for teachers and educators in selecting
children's poems that are linguistically and cognitively relevant to children aged 5-6 years,
such as ensuring the use of sound, simple and familiar vocabulary, elements of imagination
that are in line with children's experiences, the use of clear visual and auditory imagery,
short lines, simple figurative language or figures of speech, the availability of educational
content, and themes that must be in line with their world.
